<div>Senior HVAC Mechanic
The Sr HVAC Mechanic is experienced in all phases of air conditioning, refrigeration and heating and assists the leadership (Shop Lead, Supervisor, Manager, and Director) with daily operations, coordination of work, quality and service, achievement of goals and objectives, customer satisfaction, and in meeting regulatory requirements.
This individual serves as the technical resource for other team members through participation in quality control and improvement activities, staff development activities, and provides daily support to team members. The Senior HVAC Mechanic also helps leadership with facilitating and monitoring the work process of designated teams, including internal construction and maintenance projects. Candidate must be proficient with direct digital controls (DDC) and experienced in all phases of air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating. This individual inspects, repairs and maintains HVAC systems in addition to maintaining parts, supplies and equipment. Responsible for following the operational and departmental guidelines, and for meeting all departmental regulatory and compliance requirements, e.g. OSHA as assigned.
This individual will assist the Shop Lead in leading the AC Shop and serve as Shop Lead in their absence.
This position is based in the AC Shop and assists with the Central Utility Plant, Pipe Shop, and Electric Shop operations and support as needed/assigned. Training to support other shops will be provided. This role is considered a departmental position and not AC Shop specific.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Master HVAC Technician. This position requires an advanced skill level with performing installation and start-up of equipment with the ability to troubleshoot and repair applied HVAC equipment on job sites. The Master HVAC Technician is responsible for depot maintenance and repair, along with customer education. An ideal candidate will be customer service oriented and work well with others. The position requires a high level of correspondence with Project Managers, Service Coordinators and customers.

Responsibilities

<li>Performs installation and start-up of equipment with the ability to troubleshoot and repair applied HVAC equipment on job sites, including customer training.</li>
<li>Performs depot maintenance, testing, repair and customer education on all applied equipment.</li>
<li>Performs live circuit troubleshooting of applied equipment up to 1000 tons.</li>
<li>Provides remote technical support for applied equipment.</li>
<li>Performs job site walks to support equipment sales.</li>
<li>Commission low temperature applications.</li>
<li>Ability to install and commission water-cooled chiller projects.</li>
<li>Ability to install and commission advanced air-cooled chiller projects using multiple pumps and heat exchangers.</li>

The Required Profile

Position Summary

The Mechanic is responsible for providing immediate and effective response to work assigned by supervisor, or by job order, and for ensuring that the work is completed in a good workmanship-like manner and that the physical condition of the building is safe and in good repair; ensure that all building certifications and licenses are properly displayed and updated; performs all duties of an Assistant Mechanic and Mechanic Trainee.

<li>High school diploma, GED or equivalent required.</li>
<li>Satisfactory passing of applicable tests.</li>
<li>Three years of experience in trades and/or technical discipline. Must have all applicable licenses and permits.</li>
<li>Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, regulations, operating and maintenance instructions, blueprints, schematics, diagrams and procedure manuals.</li>
<li>Ability to prepare routine reports and correspondence. Ability to interpret and follow instructions in written, oral, diagrammatic or schedule form.</li>
<li>Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret technical instructions necessary to carry out the above duties and skills.</li>
<li>The incumbent must be able to perform duties on ladders and scaffolding, indoors and outdoors as well as lifting a maximum of 50 lbs. and moving heavier objects with assisted devices.</li>
<li>The work environment includes working near or with moving mechanical parts, chemicals and electrical equipment.</li>
