<div>An Instructional Specialist is responsible for: a) providing specialized instructional support to a department head, faculty member or other supervisor and/or b) providing direct instruction and tutoring to students.</div>
</div><br>
<div><div><b>Essential Functions:</b></div>
<div><ul><li>Obtains, prepares, and maintains materials, equipment and supplies for student labs and classes.</li>
<li>Cleans up and organizes supplies, materials and equipment.</li>
<li>Keeps inventory records of supplies, equipment and materials.</li>
<li>Provide initial program information to prospective students of diverse backgrounds in person, via phone or email and refer students to appropriate resources.</li>
<li>Assist in orientation including testing new students and discussion of test scores or referral to advising personnel.</li>
<li>Performs variety of tasks related to student admissions, (such as applicant interviewing, registration, solving student account issues, data entry verification and updating student data).</li>

Requires the ability to carry out the responsibilities of the position including delivering instruction to small groups, designing and setting up laboratory assignments, experiments, simulations, and tests, as well as student projects. Must be able to maintain the lab and equipment in a safe and organized manner, including the handling of hazardous materials and equipment as required for some labs. Requires the ability to instruct in person and virtually through online platforms in the use of equipment and programs. Requires the ability to perform routine record keeping and report writing duties. Must be able to organize and prioritize work and manage time effectively. Must be able to communicate in both formal and informal setting with students, instructors, and other interested parties. Must be able to coordinate the activities of work study students.<br>

Requires sufficient ambulatory ability to move to work stations. Requires good arm, hand, finger dexterity in order to use a personal computer keyboard and other office equipment.
