As a Laundry Aide in our skilled nursing facility, you will play a vital role in maintaining cleanliness and hygiene by ensuring that linens and clothing are laundered efficiently and according to established standards. Laundry Aide Responsibilities:
<ul><li> Linen Management: Collect soiled linens and clothing from resident rooms, common areas, and other designated areas, and transport them to the laundry room for processing.</li></ul>
<ul><li> Sorting and Washing: Sort soiled linens by type and color, load them into washers, and select appropriate wash cycles and detergent according to fabric type and facility protocols.</li></ul>
<ul><li> Drying and Folding: Transfer clean linens to dryers, monitor drying cycles to ensure proper drying temperatures and times, and fold or hang linens neatly for storage or distribution.</li></ul>
<ul><li> Safety and Compliance: Adhere to established safety procedures and infection control protocols, including proper handling of soiled linens and personal protective equipment (PPE) usage.</li></ul> 


Laundry Aide Qualifications:
<ul><li> High school diploma or equivalent preferred.</li></ul>
<ul><li> Knowledge of laundry equipment operation, garment care techniques, and stain removal methods.</li></ul>
<ul><li> Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.</li></ul>
<ul><li> Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.</li></ul>
<ul><li> Physical stamina and the ability to lift and carry laundry bags and operate laundry equipment.</li></ul>

PURPOSE:
The purpose of this position is to implement laundry procedures to operate the laundry department in a cost-effective, efficient manner to safely meet residents needs in compliance with Federal, State and local requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school graduate preferred. Good physical health. Sense of responsibility. Experience in washing or laundry activities and use of laundry supplies preferred. Ability to follow directions and understand the importance of cleanliness and sanitation. Ability to cooperate with other employees.
WORKING HOURS:
7.5 hours per day unless part-time status. Pay period based on 75 hours in a 14-day period.
THIS POSITION REPORTS TO: Housekeeping Laundry Services Supervisor or Environmental Services Supervisor.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Well-lighted, well-ventilated work area. Stands, bends, stoops, lifts heavy, wet wash, walks short distances during work day. Pushes carts. Exposed to heat and steam. May handle contaminated articles.

Responsible to adhere to HIPAA MINIMUM NECESSARY guidelines and safeguard protected health information.

Puts linens on carts and distributes to departments according to daily needs.

Informs supervisor when laundry supplies and equipment are low.
</li><li>Notifies Administration immediately of necessary maintenance of machine.</li></ul>
If asked to launder residents clothes, they are washed separate from bed linens and Laundry Aide takes special care in collecting resident clothing from rooms and returning such to appropriate areas. Environmental Services Laundry Aide must check to be sure residents name is marked in personal clothing. Laundry markers are available for such identification as needed.

Job Overview

Change bed linens and towels according to established standards.</li><li>
Clean floors to include: sweeping, dust mopping, damp/wet mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, disinfecting, etc. Assure that appropriate wet floor signs are properly set up prior to performing such duties.</li><li>
Clean carpets to include: vacuuming, shampooing, deodorizing, and disinfecting.</li><li>
Discard waste/trash into proper containers and reline trash receptacle with plastic liner.</li><li>
Ensure that all cleaning supplies are stocked and organized for efficient use.</li><li>
Perform terminal cleaning procedures as directed when a resident is discharged and/or transferred to another room/area.</li></ul>
Laundry Duties:<ul><li>
