 Litigating matters under the supervision of the Chief Litigation Counsel, with responsibility for management, coordination, and strategy of portions of the Company&rsquo;s product liability litigation, consumer class actions and general commercial litigation, as well as the evaluation and resolution of pre-litigation demands.
 
 
 Responsibilities:

 Conducting comprehensive case analysis and research to assess litigation matters and threats, enabling strategic decision-making that aligns with organizational objectives

 Pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location. Salaried employees may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing, and long-term incentives for Executive-level roles.

This would suit regulatory lawyer, litigator or commercial lawyer with significant consumer law knowledge, who is keen to cover a broad area of work and multiple jurisdictions. The successful candidate will dedicate approximately 80% of their time to consumer law work (including front end requirements/compliance, marketing campaign reviews, working with our Product team on new features/initiatives/projects and general consumer law compliance/training) and litigation matters. The remaining time will be focused on supporting new and existing technology law requirements, licensing requirements, competition law and providing general commercial legal support. This role requires a deep understanding of consumer protection laws and litigation, as well as a good knowledge of general commercial/regulatory legal matters. Experience in competition law would be a distinct advantage.

 Regulatory and Litigation - Consumer Law Focus
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Advisory Services: Provide expert legal advice on consumer protection laws to ensure compliance with local regulations. In addition, providing general commercial legal advice in relation to commercial matters.
 </li>

 Regulatory Compliance: Monitor and interpret changes in consumer protection, licensing and technology laws, advising the business on necessary adjustments.
 </li>
 <li>
 Investigations and Audits: Conduct internal investigations and audits to ensure compliance with consumer protection laws. Conduct assurance activities in relation to regulatory changes required across the Agoda platforms.
 </li>
 <li>
 Front End Scanning: Take ownership of delivering front-end scanning covering assigned countries and/or areas. This will involve collaboration with other teams within Legal and beyond.
 </li>
 <li>
 Assist with competition law issues: Be ready to assist with competition law issues and general regulatory matters on an ad-hoc basis. Candidates without the necessary experience should be willing to learn.
 </li>
 <li>
 Litigation Support: Assist in the preparation and management of litigation and dispute resolution matters across the world. Candidates without prior litigation experience should be eager to learn.
 </li>
 <li>
 Risk Management: Proactively identify and mitigate legal risks associated with the business covering a wide variety of regulatory areas, but with a primary focus on consumer law. Work through innovative risk mitigation strategies with business partners with appropriate escalations.
 </li>
 <li>
 Training and Education: Help to develop and deliver training programs for staff on consumer protection laws and other regulatory compliance requirements (e.g. licensing/technology law and general regulatory matter).

 General Commercial Support
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including supplier agreements, service contracts, partnership agreements together with the provision of general commercial contracts advice.
 </li>
 <li>
 Legal Research: Conduct legal research on various commercial law issues and provide actionable advice and strategy to the business.
 </li>
 <li>
 Policy Development: Assist in the development and implementation of company policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance and best practices.
 
 
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 What You'll Need To Succeed
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Legal professional with 4-7+ years PQE consumer or tech regulatory, litigation or commercial lawyer with consumer law focus and significant APAC wide experience.
 </li>
 <li>
 Able to provide well-reasoned, practical legal advice on a wide-range of matters, with a clear focus on consumer law, related regulatory issues, litigation and general commercial matters.
 </li>
 <li>
 Able to communicate effectively with key business teams, global legal team and external counsel.
 </li>
 <li>
 Self starter who can take forward matters with appropriate supervision.
 </li>
 <li>
 Contribute to new policies, procedures, training, and templates with the goal of fostering efficiency and compliance.
 </li>
 <li>
 Experience in litigation and/or competition law would be a distinct advantage.
 
 
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 It's Great If You Have
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 EU experience would beneficial as would a legal qualification in a common law jurisdiction.
 </li>
 <li>
 Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
 </li>
 <li>
 Excellent academic credentials, experience working in top-tier law firm and preferably with experience working in-house at an MNC.
 </li>
 <li>
 Experience of EU Digital Services Act an advantage.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ability to work independently and as part of a large diverse team.
 </li>
 <li>
 A demonstrated can-do, roll up your sleeves, collaborative approach, coupled with a strong work ethic and sound judgment.
 </li>
 <li>
 Excellent communication and legal drafting skills (verbal and written) in English.
 </li>
 <li>
 Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
 </li>
 <li>
 Experience with travel industry/technology/fintech a plus.
 </li>
 <li>
 High level of integrity and professional ethics.
