<div>POSITION SUMMARY:
 
The Litigation Paralegal plays a pivotal role in supporting our civil litigation and mass tort attorneys, and this Litigation Paralegal position is essential to ensuring smooth case progression. As a Litigation Paralegal, you will manage high volumes of casework, coordinate legal processes, and ensure accurate and timely handling of all case-related documentation. This position requires a detail-oriented professional with strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills are key.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:<ul><li>
Support attorneys through all phases of litigation, from client intake through trial preparation and settlement.</li><li>
Draft, review, and file legal documents including complaints, motions, discovery requests, and settlement agreements.</li><li>
Conduct legal research and summarize case law, statutes, and regulations for attorney review.</li><li>
Manage large caseloads, with a focus on organizing documentation, tracking evidence, and monitoring case statuses.</li><li>
Coordinate court filings, deadlines, depositions, and calendaring to ensure procedural compliance.</li><li>
Gather and prepare medical records, authorization forms, and other evidentiary documents, especially in mass tort matters.</li><li>
Communicate professionally with clients, medical providers, opposing counsel, and court staff to facilitate smooth case progress.</li><li>
Maintain and update case management systems and document databases with a high level of accuracy.</li></ul>

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:<ul><li>
Must be at least 18 years of age or older.</li><li>
3+ years of experience as a paralegal in a law firm or legal department setting.</li><li>
Civil litigation experience strongly preferred.</li><li>
Associate&rsquo;s degree or Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program required, Bachelor's degree preferred.</li><li>
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis), and case management systems.</li><li>
Must be able to read, comprehend, and follow written and verbal instructions.</li><li>
Must be willing to travel for casework, court proceedings, or training as needed.</li><li>
Must hold a valid driver&rsquo;s license.</li></ul>
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:<ul><li>
Prolonged periods of sitting.</li><li>
Perform repetitive tasks such as typing and clicking.</li><li>
Must be able to lift and move light items up to 20 pounds at times.</li><li>
Must be able to bend, reach, push, pull, lift, and sit.</li></ul>

What You'll Do and Who You Are

You will assist with case management, draft and proofread legal documents, organize, review, and manage large volumes of records related to litigation, and assist with preparing for depositions, hearings, and trials. You'll leverage legal technology and case management tools to stay organized and streamline workflows in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

We're looking for a highly motivated paralegal with at least three years of experience in civil litigation, insurance defense, or personal injury matters. You should be skilled in processing records and trial preparation, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities. Strong communication skills, professionalism, and a collaborative mindset are essential, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal document management systems.

Responsibilities

<li>Ability to assist attorneys with propounding and responding to discovery (interrogatories, requests for admissions, and request for production, subpoenas, and preparing deposition binders) and motions (preparation of any supporting documents and exhibits, and preparing hearing binders)</li>
<li>Ability to manage trial preparation including: coordination of witnesses and travel, trial exhibits, charts, trial notebook, subpoenas, and page lines</li>
<li>Independently obtain, review and organize medical records/medical billings, calculate damages including medical expenses, lost wages and property damage</li>
<li>Work as part of a team with all levels of experiences</li>
<li>Routine communications with clients, experts, and attorneys about case status and preparation</li>

<li>Enter your billable time on a contemporaneous basis</li>
<li>Work as part of a team with all levels of experience</li>

<li>Paralegal certification (preferred)</li>
<li>Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a litigation paralegal</li>
<li>Ability to work in the New York office at least 3 days per week (8:30am-5:00pm ET)</li>
<li>Experience with litigation in the state of New York (Connecticut experience is also highly preferred)</li>
<li>Solid understanding of civil litigation (state and federal deadlines and rules)</li>
<li>High proficiency in MS Suite, specifically Word, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Outlook and Adobe Acrobat</li>
