ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES<ul><li>
Assumes responsibility for effectively receiving, reviewing, and processing loan applications.</li><li>
Interviews, takes applications, gathers information, and processes preliminary documentation on loan requests.</li><li>
Evaluates and verifies loan applications and credit criteria. Computes debt ratios. Verifies employment and income. Determines the value of collateral. Approves loans within the limits of authority and notifies applicants of loan decisions. Requests additional information if required.</li><li>
Coordinates and processes closings. Ensures that each loan is promptly and properly prepared, documented, processed, approved, and disbursed.</li><li>
Calculates terms, finance charges, and insurance on loans for proper disclosure on promissory notes.</li><li>
Assists in servicing loans by processing such items as payoff, refinances, problem loan workout arrangements, address changes, payment extensions, collateral releases, and payment due date changes.</li><li>
Assumes responsibility for filing vehicle titles and prompt follow-up on titles still pending. Verifies car insurance coverage. Makes car appraisals.</li><li>
Sells credit union products and services.</li><li>
Performs duties of area personnel, as required.</li><li>
Ensures that lending operations are conducted in accordance with established Credit Union policies and are legally compliant. Ensures that loan requests are properly documented.</li><li>
Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective and professional business relationships with members.</li><li>
Resolves members' requests and questions promptly and courteously. Provides blue book values and answers questions regarding government loans and real estate policies.</li><li>
Keeps members properly informed of Credit Union loan policies and services.</li><li>
Ensures that the Credit Union's quality and professional reputation is projected and maintained. Upholds the SSFCU Service Values.</li><li>
Counsels members regarding money management and financial matters.</li><li>
Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective coordination and communication with area personnel and with management.</li><li>
Assists area personnel as needed. Assists other Loan Officers.</li><li>
Completes reports and records promptly and accurately. Type loans and all supporting documents as required. Ensures appropriate credit union documents are scanned.</li><li>
Attends meetings as required.</li><li>
Keeps Management informed of area activities and of any significant problems.</li><li>
Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.</li><li>
Actively and professionally cross-sells Credit Union services.</li><li>
Stays informed regarding local and national economic conditions and legal and regulatory changes.</li><li>
Ensures proper maintenance, cleanliness, and security of work area, desks, equipment, etc.</li></ul>
Requirements:

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: High school graduate or equivalent. Some college preferred.
EXPERIENCE PREFERRED: Minimum of 12 months previous teller experience or similar. Knowledge of basic financial institution
regulations.

The Assistant Mortgage Loan Consultant (AMLC) assists the Mortgage Loan Consultant(s) (MLC) to produce mortgage loans efficiently and timely, with minimal errors, all while maintaining exceptional customer service. The AMLC performs a variety of administrative duties in support of, and in concert with the individual MLC quest in establishing and maintaining strong professional ties to area business generators, builders, centers of influence, as well as individual residential real estate customers.</div><ul><li>
Supports the Mortgage Loan Consultant in soliciting quality loan applicants through various methods and media.</li><li>
Assists MLCs to gather information related to residential real estate applications through interaction with parties involved in the transaction, while adhering to customer privacy guidelines.</li><li>

Position Overview:
 
This position is primarily responsible for developing new and existing commercial loan business relationships, administering a portfolio of commercial loans, determining the credit worthiness of borrowers, monitoring loan performance, preparing commercial loans for presentation and promoting the Bank&rsquo;s image in the community in order to meet or exceed commercial loan quality, profitability, growth and service objectives. Primary Responsibilities:

Monitors loan performance by maintaining contact with borrowers, monitoring the financial condition of borrowers and resolving problems and when appropriate waiving a request for financial statements according to established policies, procedures and regulations in an accurate and timely manner to reduce risk the Bank might incur from collateral deterioration or borrowers' inability to pay. 
 
Prepares loan documents that are in compliance with bank regulations for presentation, presents loans that are above the incumbent's lending limit to the loan committee or officer with higher lending limits communicating all elements of the loan to ensure compliance with regulations and to enhance the ability to make sound credit decisions. 
 
Promotes the Bank&rsquo;s image in the community by participating in community activities, coordinating community development efforts, promoting involvement and participation in community service organizations to assist in compliance with the Community Reinvestment Act, presents a favorable image in the community and establishes contacts that could generate new business.
