Position Summary</h1>
The Medication Technician / Med Tech plays a vital role in supporting the health, wellness, and quality of life of residents within our Assisted Living and/or Memory Care communities.

Position Summary
The Medication Technician (RMA/Med Tech) is responsible for administering medications and treatments, monitoring vital signs, and supporting resident health needs in accordance with physician orders and state regulations. This role works closely with nursing leadership, home health, hospice, and emergency services and may provide supervisory oversight when management is not present. Reports directly to the Registered Nurse or Administrator.

Administer medications and treatments in compliance with physician orders and state regulations.</li><li>
Measure and document vital signs and weight.</li><li>
Maintain accurate medication administration records and documentation.</li><li>

<li>Restocks medication cart after all medication passes.</li>
<li>Assists in checking medication regardless of packaging system.</li>
<li>Counts all narcotics with another Medication Care Manager or Nurse each shift.</li>
<li>Maintains and cleans the Medication Room, med charts, treatment carts for neatness cleanliness, availability of medications and expired medications.</li>
<li>Follows re-fill process for medications.</li>
<li>Participates in the development of the Service Plan and monthly updates.</li>
<li>Takes and records temperature, blood pressure, weight, pulse and respiration rates.</li>
<li>Reports occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, sharp sticks and hazardous chemicals immediately.</li>
<li>Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.</li>

Job Summary</h2><div>
As a Medical Technician, you will play an important role in supporting residents' health, safety, and overall well-being. You will assist with medication administration, monitor residents' physical and emotional conditions, maintain accurate records, and help create a positive living environment while encouraging resident independence.</div><div>
This position reports to the LPN Supervisor and offers the opportunity to work closely with residents and healthcare professionals in a caring senior living community.</div><h2 class="jobSectionHeader">
Responsibilities</h2><ul><li>
Support Lutheran Haven's mission and values through compassionate resident care.</li><li>
Foster positive relationships with residents, families, and team members.</li><li>
Supervise and assist residents with self-administration of medications.</li><li>
Ensure medications are available and administered according to established procedures.</li><li>
Observe, document, and report changes in resident health and well-being.</li><li>
Obtain and record vital signs and weights as directed.</li><li>
Assist residents with transportation arrangements and off-site appointments.</li><li>
Maintain accurate and complete documentation and medical records.</li><li>
Follow infection control procedures and universal precautions.</li><li>
Promote resident participation in community activities and events.</li><li>
Attend required training sessions, staff meetings, and in-service programs.</li><li>
Perform additional duties as assigned.</li></ul><h2 class="jobSectionHeader">
Qualifications</h2><ul><li>
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.</li><li>
Medication Administration Certificate is preferred but not required.</li><li>
Paid training and certification available for qualified candidates.</li><li>
Current CPR certification preferred or ability to obtain after hire.</li><li>
Basic computer skills.</li><li>
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.</li><li>
Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain professionalism in a healthcare environment.</li><li>
