Works with program staff to provide analysis, research in both legal and technical aspects of the DVRP/VTiP.</li><li>Build relationships and conduct program training for authorized public entities.</li><li>Prepares vessel custody notices and tracks timelines for DNR-led removals in accordance with state law.</li><li>Uses Department of Licensing, social media, Accurint database, and USCG Documentation Center to conduct computer searches for information on derelict vessel owners.</li><li>Drafts and sends initial custody and &ldquo;pre-custody&rdquo; letters to owners of potentially derelict or abandoned vessels.</li><li>Assists program staff in coordinating the removal and deconstruction of vessels. Seeks input from team members on site-specific environmental issues and required permits or other considerations. </b></p><p>McMillen, Inc is seeking a highly motivated and self-directed <b>Natural Resource Consultant</b> with at least 5 + years of experience to join our Environmental Services Group working on fisheries, fish habitat, and ecosystem services projects. Primary responsibilities include support for a variety of hydropower projects in the Pacific NW and Alaska, from the study development phase through in-field study implementation/data collection, analysis and reporting. Additionally, the selected applicant must be adaptive, able to multi-task and have a strong desire to grow and evolve long-term with a great team of quality aquatic ecologists here at McMillen. It is essential that the person in this position can work with a variety of personalities and develop positive, long-lasting relationships with existing and potential clients.</p>
<p><b>
 Responsibilities:</b></p>

<li>Lead and participate in multi-faceted field efforts related to fisheries, freshwater ecology, freshwater habitat, and other natural resource studies.</li>
<li>Assist with the preparation and management of well-written study plans and biological reports that adhere to the requisite project, state and federal requirements.</li>
<li>Participate in agency and stakeholder technical working group meetings, representing client interests, study plans and results, and team progress.

<p><b>Qualifications:</b></p>

<li>A minimum of 5 years of experience in aquatic evaluations related to anadromous and resident salmonids and/ or resident fish species the Pacific Northwest, British Columbia and/or Alaska.</li>
<li>Experience conducting fish behavior studies such as passage evaluations using radio, acoustic, PIT, or hydroacoustic technologies preferred but not required.</li>
<li>Experience conducting instream flow studies for salmonid species in freshwater riverine habitat is desired but not required.</li>
<li>Experience conducting aquatic studies in connection with developing impact assessments, regulatory compliance monitoring, project development, and/or long-term operations.</li>
<li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in related technical discipline of Natural Resource Management, Environmental Science, Ecology, Biology, or Natural Science is required. A Masters&rsquo; degree is preferred, but applicable professional experience may be considered in lieu of an advanced degree.</li>

The purpose of the job is to prevent degradation of fish habitat. The position directs Fish, Wildlife &amp; Parks&rsquo; (FWP) statewide responsibilities under the Stream Protection Act (SPA) as authorized under (MCA) 87-5-501 through 87-5-509. This is a term position that performs SPA permitting related to Montana Department of Transportation (MDT)&rsquo;s Load Posted Bridge Initiative (position ends 6/30/2027).</p><p></p><p><b><br>

Valid Florida driver's license at the time of hire</li></ul><div></div><div>
Preferred &quot;BONUS&quot; Qualifications:</div><ul><li>
Pesticide Applicator License or the ability to obtain</li><li>
Certified NATA Natural Areas Manager or the ability to obtain</li><li>
Completion of Basic Wildland Firefighting (S-130/190), Intermediate Wildland Fire Behavior (S-290), Wildland Fire Chainsaws (S-112 or S-212) and completion of ICS 100-200 or the ability to obtain</li><li>
Ability and willingness to annually pass the moderate FFS pack test (carry 25 pounds while walking 2 miles in 30 minutes)</li><li>
Ability to operate ATVs, brush trucks, four-wheel-drive vehicles, and chainsaws</li><li>
Florida plant identification skills</li><li>
Natural resource management (prescribed fire, invasive species management, habitat restoration, etc.) in Florida</li></ul><div></div><div>
Physical Demands:</div><ul><li>
This role must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.</li><li>
Must be able to work outdoors in hot and humid conditions</li></ul><div></div><div>

Starting Pay Range: $57,577.60 - $63,003.00/ annually, based upon experience</div><div></div><div><i>
