Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Trash Truck Driver (Non-CDL) to join our team. Position Overview
 
The Central Texas Food Bank is looking for a NON-CDL DRIVER in our Transportation Department. The primary responsibility of this position is to load and unload company vehicles and to provide timely and efficient transportation of food products from donors to the Food Bank and back to our partner agencies. It requires dependable assistance in warehouse operations and safety procedures with emphasis on receipt and storage of incoming products. This position works independently and with minimal direct supervision. The schedule for this role will be mostly Monday- Friday 10 am- 6 pm, with one Saturday a month and one Sunday every other month.

Work closely with the Router to keep projects and tasks moving forward.
Your Qualifications:
<ul><li> 1+ years of experience in receiving and delivering in warehouse environment.</li></ul>
<ul><li> Experience driving a 26 ft. box truck.</li></ul>
<ul><li> Possession of a current Texas Class C driver&rsquo;s license.
</li></ul><ul><li> A minimum of two years of route delivery experience and a good driving record for at least three years.</li></ul>
<ul><li> Experience in warehousing and demonstrated ability to operate all warehouse equipment.</li></ul>
<ul><li> High School Diploma or equivalent.</li></ul>
<ul><li> Technical aptitude including computer literacy, navigating applications on Smart Phone and using GPS and other tracking systems.</li></ul>

</li></ul>Your Responsibilities
<ul><li>
Provide customer service on our distribution dock by pulling and verifying agency orders and supervising loading of agency vehicles.
</li><li>Receive donations and keep accurate log entries of all donations.</li><li>
Follow procedures pertaining to proper handling of work, ticket/inventory documentation.</li><li>
Help conduct periodic physical inventories, as directed.</li><li>
Transport food from donors to the Food Bank and from the Food Bank to agencies- this includes loading, driving, and unloading products.
</li></ul><ul><li>Develop good working relationships with store personnel and agency personnel and immediately notify the Transportation Manager of any potential problems.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Keep accurate, legible log of the weights and sources of all food and grocery products donated and all agency receipts and shortages.</li><li>
Assess the condition of donated food, placing acceptable products in proper storage and immediately discarding unacceptable products.</li><li>
Mark and sort perishable foods that require special handling.</li><li>
Maintain vehicle condition logs and immediately inform the Transportation Manager of any problems concerning Food Bank vehicles including accidents, mechanical failure, or need for maintenance.</li><li>
Operate rider/pallet jacks.</li><li>
Work cooperatively with warehouse staff and assist with warehouse duties as needed.
</li><li>Comply with all health regulations and other laws that govern food handling.</li><li>
Assist in the preparation of reports, data gathering, and completion of goals, metrics and deadlines.</li><li>

Working Conditions
<ul><li>
Hours of Operation: Core business hours for this position are Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm. This position&rsquo;s schedule is dependent on scheduled delivery routes, so this role sometimes requires working irregular hours including early mornings.

I. Job Summary 
 
Safely operates a heavy-duty truck to perform assigned duties on designated routes.
 
 
II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities 
<ul><li>Operates vehicle in accordance with Occupational and Safety Health Act (OSHA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements as well as all local, state and federal requirements and Company expectations for the Fleet; maintains a clean and safe vehicle.</li><li>
Performs pre- and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle using utilizing standard DVIR (Driver Vehicle Inspection Report); notes all issues on DVIR form for corrective review/repair.</li><li>
Immediately reports any unsafe situations or service calls to Route Manager or Dispatch before attempting service.</li><li>
Participates and cooperates in all scheduled training, briefings, and meetings as required by Route Manager.</li><li>
Works closely with Route Managers to improve route efficiencies and identify problem or unsafe accounts.</li><li>
Performs all duties as scheduled by Route Manager or Dispatch, assisting other company drivers as directed.</li><li>
Notifies Route Manager of any incidents, accidents, injures, or property damage.</li><li>
Notifies Dispatch or Route Manager of issues as prescribed by Service Machine protocol, including blocked containers, potential missed pick-ups or problems that arise on the route.</li><li>
Communicates customer requests or issues to Dispatch or Route Manager.</li><li>
Completely dumps all containers and leaves the customer&rsquo;s location clean and free of debris.</li><li>
Completes and submits customer tickets when excess yardage must be removed.</li><li>
Positions containers on the customer&rsquo;s property in a manner that ensures lids are properly replaced, containers are set in an upright position, and containers do not block driveway entrances or traffic.</li><li>
Follows route assignments throughout the day and completes all documentation when checking-in at the end of the route.</li></ul>
