<br>
The purpose of this classification is to perform manual work functions associated with general

maintenance, repair, landscaping, and groundskeeping of parks and recreation facilities. Reports
<br>
to the Parks &amp; Recreation Director.
</p><div>ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
<br>
<ul><li>Performs a variety of manual, semi-skilled, and skilled maintenance, inspection, and
</li></ul>repair work of City parks and recreation facilities.
<br>
<ul><li>Maintains athletic fields and related facilities and playground equipment for recreational
</li></ul>facilities.
<br>
<ul><li>Maintains parks facilities such as restrooms, concession stands, picnic shelters, and other
</li></ul>recreation and park areas; collects and disposes of trash and debris on City Park property.
<br>
<ul><li>Installs, maintains, and replaces playground equipment and fences; assembles tables,
</li></ul>benches, and bleachers.
<br>
<ul><li>Performs ground maintenance to include mowing grass, blowing leaves, pruning or
</li></ul>trimming vegetation, pulling weeds, spraying or applying herbicide and fertilizer, loading
<br>
trimmings onto truck, picking up trash and blowing or sweeping debris off parking lots
<br>
and sidewalks and assist with snow removal as season dictates.

<ul><li>Performs general maintenance tasks necessary to keep machinery, equipment, and tools
</li></ul>in operable condition.

<ul><li>Utilizes precautionary safety equipment and monitors work environment to ensure safety
</li></ul>of employees and other individuals.

<ul><li>Prepares or completes various forms, correspondence, reports, timecards, maintenance
</li></ul>reports, spray records, and other documents.

<ul><li>Communicates with supervisor, employees, other departments, the public, and other

The work is moderate work which requires exerting up to 50 pounds of force. Work requires

<p><b>San Bernardino County Special Districts</b> is recruiting for <b>Park Maintenance Worker III - Big Bear</b> to lead and participate in the construction, maintenance, repair, and operation of park facilities, grounds, and equipment. Incumbents provide direction and functional supervision to maintenance staff and assist with planning, scheduling, and coordinating maintenance and improvement projects.</p><p>
