Mercantile Bank, a United Community Bank, is in search of a part-time teller for our Walmart branch. Candidates will assist customers with various banking needs, offer product information and provide exceptional customer service while presenting a positive image of the Bank. This position meets the needs of customers by providing quality service in the receiving and paying out of money, and accurate record keeping of money and negotiable instruments involved in the bank's various transactions. Flexible hours Monday thru Friday with some potential weekend rotations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Kindly greet all customers immediately upon entry to maintain a welcoming and helpful environment</li><li>
Assist customers with the various financial transactions including but not limited to inquiries regarding their balances, statements, and general account information</li><li>

Process loan payments, savings bonds, cashier's checks, and registration stickers</li><li>
Handle checks and cash for deposit; verify amounts and examine checks for endorsement before processing</li><li>
Promptly answer, screen, and forward incoming phone calls</li><li>
Assist and transfer customers to the correct department by using the employee/department directories</li><li>
Work towards obtaining qualified customer product referrals each month</li><li>
Cross sell and/or refer applicable bank products via the telephone or to customers in person</li><li>
Maintain a clear understanding of when to put a &quot;hold&quot; on funds and know how to explain that to a customer</li><li>
Capture images on the NDP machine</li><li>
Adhere to cash handling policies</li><li>
Process deposits from the night depository box and mailed deposits</li><li>

Issue Ace/Gift cards</li><li>
