The center currently consists of eight faculty members and more than 25 researchers and PhD students.

The Center possesses the unique possibility to investigate fundamental questions in astrophysics, astroparticle physics, and planetary physics from several points of view, with the expertise of its members ranging from collecting and analyzing state-of-the-art data on the nature of the visible and invisible matter in the Universe, to detailed theoretical and numerical studies from planets to galaxies, and linking them together cohesively.

We expect successful applicants to work towards improving the collaborations and connections among the different areas. We invite applicants to visit our website to learn more about current research projects at CASS.

The center fellows will have access to a 70,000-core Infiniband Cluster (Jubail) dedicated to the science division, several GPU-based clusters at NYUAD, and other supercomputer facilities through the CASS network. NYUAD also has guaranteed observing time on the Green Bank Telescope, the Very Long Baseline Array, and Las Cumbres Observatory, and is a participant in SDSS-V.

Applicants should have a PhD in astronomy, astrophysics, physics, or a closely related field. The appointment will be for an initial period of two years with a likely extension to a total of three years. CASS fellows will have dedicated funds for traveling, computing, publications, etc.

The preferred starting date is Fall of 2026.

 We are inviting applications for a Postdoctoral Associate in the Division of Social Science at NYU Abu Dhabi from individuals who have or will soon receive a PhD in sociology, social psychology, computational social science, computer science, information science, data science, or a closely related field.  The post-doctoral associate will spend half their time on independent research, and half their time on collaborative research with Professors Mario D. Molina, Minsu Park, and Blaine Robbins. The collaborative research will be large-scale analyses of digital traces (e.g., Yelp, Airbnb, Stack Exchange) and virtual lab experiments to study how ingroup favoritism and group boundaries coevolve in multiplex communities; how attribute- and opinion-based cues shape insider/outsider categorization, intergroup relations, and social cohesion; and how to design interventions that promote inclusivity, fairness, and productive discourse online.
 
 
 We seek a candidate with expertise in the following four areas: (1) working with large-scale digital trace data; (2) building and running natural language processing and machine learning workflows; (3) experimental design and causal inference (including virtual lab experiments); and/or (4) network or computational modeling. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in applying these tools to questions of group formation, intergroup relations, and the distribution of resources on online platforms. This is an excellent position for a computational social scientist or a computer/data scientist eager to transition into the social sciences.

 As part of the Electrical Engineering program of the Engineering Division and the Center of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics at NYU Abu Dhabi the group of Prof. Kostas J. Kyriakopoulos seeks to improve the autonomy of Field Robotic systems by fusing control theoretic and machine intelligence approaches. Formal models are directly applied in real experimental facilities. Marine Robotics is our current emphasis, without excluding candidates with prior experience on Aerial or Ground Systems.
 
 
 
 Skills
 
 
 
 We are seeking a Post-Doctoral associate to join our expanding team and make significant contributions to the field. The researcher is expected to have (i) strong engineering skills to find innovative and cost-effective means to improve our research, and (ii) exemplary passion and motivation to enhance our multidisciplinary research at the intersection of control theory and machine intelligence.  We seek a candidate with expertise in the informed reproduction of ancient technologies testing in experiments both the use value of objects and the skills/time involved in their manufacturing

The candidate should have knowledge of, and experience with: 1) copper, tin, and bronze &mdash; both their chemical properties and experience working with them in a foundry; 2) working on sites in the areas where these materials were mined and fabricated; 3) Geographical Information Systems in mapping these data and analyzing spatial patterns. New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) seeks to appoint a Center Manager for Public Health Research Center reporting to the Center Director for Public Health Research Center. 
The Public Health Research Center Manager will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of administrative processes to support the center&rsquo;s Director, Associate Director, research team, and admin staff members. This position will primarily report to the PHRC Director, but will closely work in collaboration with the Associate Director, and on occasions, the Assistant Director. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced collaborative environment, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a commitment to excellence in administrative management and communications. 
Key Responsibilities: 
Administrative Overview<ul><li>
Assist Senior Leadership (Director and Associate Director) in day-to-day operations of the center</li><li>
Lead and oversee administrative work, ensuring efficient execution of tasks and adherence to established protocols</li><li>
Develop and implement administrative procedures to support the needs of the team (PI, Co-PIs, Researchers, admin staff, etc.), streamlining operations and enhancing efficiency</li><li>
Implement admin data collection, and maintain new archiving system for efficient and timely production of various reports</li><li>
Manage personal and shared calendars</li><li>
Maintain a well-organized and productive work environment</li></ul>
 Finance / Grants and Funding Administration
<ul><li>Coordinate grant-related administrative tasks, such as budget management and reporting requirements. Where applicable, assist with the preparation and submission of grant proposals and funding applications</li><li>
In collaboration with Procurement, manage and negotiate collaborators agreement contracts</li><li>
Oversee purchasing needs (administrative and clinical), expenses reimbursement for the center&rsquo;s personnel</li><li>
Process honoraria and other budget and expenses for the center</li><li>
Review expenses and invoices for accuracy, investigate discrepancies, and report results to the Director and Associate Director</li><li>
Assigned as Associate Director&rsquo;s delegate in Concur; assigned as ePro requester for the center (coordinate with the other PHRC ePro requesters)</li></ul>
 Event and Meeting Coordination / Logistics<ul><li>
Serve as center lead to maintain working relationships with various NYUAD departments (Research Institute and other research centers, Finance, Post Award Administration, Human Resources, Public Safety, Logistics, Research Institute, etc.)</li><li>
Plan and coordinate senior management and team meetings, seminars, workshops, advisory board meetings, UAEHFS steering committee meetings, conferences, and other events</li><li>
Manage logistics, invitations, travel and agendas to ensure successful and productive gatherings</li></ul>
 Human Resources<ul><li>
Assist PHRC Senior Management Team with various HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding/offboarding, and performance management, ensuring compliance with university policies and procedures</li><li>
Assigned as Director&rsquo;s delegate in Workday</li></ul>
 Communications and Collaborations<ul><li>
Serve as a central point of contact for internal and external communications</li><li>
Facilitate collaboration between research team members, administrative staff, and external stakeholders to promote synergy and knowledge exchange</li></ul>
 Mentorship<ul><li>
Provide guidance and train team member(s) for efficient use of tools and systems (Concur, ePro, UDW+, etc.)</li></ul>
 Project Coordination<ul><li>
Support the center&rsquo;s projects by coordinating administrative aspects, including project timelines, team communications, and resource allocation</li><li>
Liaise with researchers and external collaborators to facilitate project progress</li></ul>
Qualifications:

Required Education:<ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in in a relevant field such as research administration, public health, or a related scientific discipline</li></ul>
 Preferred Education:<ul><li>
Master&rsquo;s degree in public health or related discipline</li></ul>
 Required Experience:<ul><li>
5+ years of experience in related field with proven record of working within and coordinating administration services in a scientific or environment</li><li>
Exceptional leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities, along with the capacity to effectively handle multiple priorities. Demonstrated determination and skill in collaborating with a diverse range of stakeholders, including researchers, institutions, and funding bodies</li></ul>
 Preferred Experience:<ul><li>
Leadership and management qualification</li><li>
Arabic language would be a plus</li><li>
Proficiency in using software tools affectively</li></ul>
