Our Sacramento office has the opportunity for an experienced Legal Practice Assistant to join the firm's expanding practice. On a day-to-day basis, the Practice Assistant works under the direction of attorneys and paralegals to whom the secretary is assigned. Essential Functions:
<ul><li>Preparing Documents: Using word processing and document management software, the Practice Assistant prepares and processes correspondence and memoranda as well as complex legal documents according to the requirements set by each practice group. Independently composes and drafts routine cover letters and documents. Proofreads documents and checks for appropriate formatting, spelling and grammar. Prepares revisions and redlines documents as directed. Prepares documents for e-filing as required.</li><li>
Processes Mail: Reviews and routes incoming mail and fax communications. Prepares and processes outgoing mail and faxes, arranging for specialized mail or messenger services as required. Ensures that all attachments, exhibits and enclosures are included.</li><li>
Maintains Calendar: Maintains and updates the calendars for assigned attorneys, including meetings, appointments, due dates, and client-related activities.</li><li>
Maintains Files: Maintains paper and electronic files in compliance with internal policies.</li><li>
General Administrative Support: Prepares and processes new matter documents. Schedules meetings and arranges for conference rooms and meals. Communicates effectively and professionally with clients and with others in the Firm. Is proactive in anticipating the business needs of the assigned attorneys; plans ahead and meets deadlines.</li><li>
Special Projects as assigned &ndash; i.e., breakfast briefings, seminars.</li><li>
Filing pleadings, motions, appeals in various court systems. Arranging service.</li></ul>
Requirements:

Knowledge of legal terminology, legal documents and legal processes</li><li>
Accurate typing of at least 70 words per minute</li><li>

Job Summary</b></p>
Under the general supervision of the Practice Manager, the Sr. Clinic Practice Assistant Sr. provides support within an Ambulatory Practice setting. Drawing on a broad understanding of Hospital practices and policies and displaying a high degree of initiative, the incumbent will handle a wide range of tasks and responsibilities. Works with all physicians, residents, nurses, NP&rsquo;s and other clinical staff members to ensure a quality&ndash;based workflow throughout the department of Radiation Oncology.<p></p><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><p><b><br>

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</p><ul><li>Strong technology and MS Office skills &ndash; Advanced Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint Knowledge of office operations and standards and understanding of office procedures including filing, copying, scanning, printing and faxing.</li><li>Ability to use phone system and manage more non-routine phone calls and solve routine issues as appropriate.</li><li>Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience and talking to others to convey information effectively.</li><li>Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents, to correspond and communicate with others clearly and effectively (including composing/editing e-mail, memos and letters), and to take complete and accurate messages.</li><li>Managing one's own time and the time of others.</li><li>Well organized and good time management skills to manage multiple tasks effectively, follow established protocols, and work within systems.</li><li>Ability to proofread and edit written documents.</li></ul><p></p><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><p><b><br>
