The IT Procurement Specialist serves as a key member of the IT procurement and budgeting team, working closely with experienced IT procurement and budget analysts. The position coordinates and processes technology-related purchases under $50,000, assists with financial documentation and reporting, and helps ensure compliance with State of Texas procurement requirements. Develops and implements category strategies that enable UPS to procure goods and services within assigned categories at the best overall cost of ownership and best value. Subject matter expert within assigned category with a deep understanding of managing contract lifecycle, maintaining supplier data, analyzing spend data, and other performance indicators important to internal stakeholders. Engages with internal business stakeholders to drive continuous improvement and optimize the supplier base. Verifies that all sourcing initiatives meet category-specific regulations, follow appropriate risk mitigation protocols, and ensures that specific contingencies for the assigned category are in place, but not limited to.<br>

Provides administrative or technical support to ensure effective on-going operations. Applies knowledge of established processes and procedures to execute with excellence.<br>

Requires full proficiency in a range of assignments gained through training and considerable experience. Provides solutions to problems in situations that are atypical or infrequently occurring.
