Position Summary:</b></p>
<p>
The Student Radiology Assistant performs a wide variety of routine duties including clerical, technical and patient related functions. This position is responsible for assisting members of the patient care team, and providing a wide range of health care services such as: patient check in, exam review, preparation for visit, patient education, assistance with exams and procedures, and patient transporting. This Radiology Assistant shall use a wide variety of equipment, computers and software. The Radiology Assistant shall work in a variety of imaging areas and assist with various tasks per operational needs.</p>
<p><b>
Responsibilities:</b></p>
<ul>
<li>Assist with imaging and invasive procedures, performs clerical duties including recordkeeping, and maintains high quality services.</li>
<li>Communicates effectively with patients/families and all care providers. Exhibits a caring attitude.</li>
<li>Interacts with staff and co-workers in a manner that promotes positive working relationships.</li>
<li>Checks the order for complete information and appropriateness criteria.</li>
<li>Adheres to established section and organizational protocols, Quality Control, Quality Assurance Guidelines and regulatory requirements.</li>
<li>Sets up the imaging room to coincide with the examination being performed to include the use of proper isolation precautions, as needed.</li>
<li>Provide quality customer service, explains all studies to a patient in a clear manner, and provide information and resources to patient and family.</li>
<li>Safely transfers patient to and from carts, beds, wheelchairs utilizing lifting devices if necessary.</li>
<li>Positions patient ensuring patient comfort and modesty.</li>
<li>Engages in professional and ethical conduct.</li>
<li>Adheres to proper cleaning and infection control guidelines.</li>
<li>Other duties as assigned.</li>

<p><b>Education/Requirements:</b></p>
<ul>
<li>Graduate or a current student in an accredited Sonography or Radiology program</li>
<li>The candidate shall provide a letter signed by their program director indicating the anticipated date of graduation or successful completion of the program.</li>
<li>LMHS, in its discretion, may request from you or others information concerning matters that may be relevant to your eligibility for certification and certification status.</li>
<li>LMH is accredited by DNV and TJC, and as such, may require specific annual education related to specialty certifications and standards.</li></ul><br>
