JOB DEFINITION:
We are looking for energized and passionate Residential Counselors to manage basic day-to-day operations at our Permanent Supportive Housing Projects. Residential Counselors assist the individuals living in our supportive housing with their daily needs, with special emphasis on challenges related to severe and persistent mental illness and substance use disorders.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:<ul><li>
Interact with residents in the general milieu and common areas.</li><li>
Assist clinical staff in the coordination of services to residents; contact residents' outside service providers as necessary.</li><li>
Assist clinical staff in engaging residents through creative, resourceful strategies that build trust and confidence.</li><li>
Assist clinical staff in the initiation, facilitation and promotion of on-site activities, therapeutic support groups, outings and community meetings.</li><li>
Manage all building operations in the absence of other project and clinical staff as assigned.</li><li>
Operate all functions in lobby office, including checking visitors in and out, answering telephones and monitoring security systems.</li><li>
Maintain safety and security by monitoring all general access areas and enforcing project rules.</li><li>
Intervene in crises, respond to emergencies, and initiate action as required, including contact with emergency response systems.</li><li>
Write significant events involving residents and building operations activities in a daily log; read log daily.</li><li>
Assist with room turnovers, new resident leasing and orientation; rent collection and facilities inspections.</li><li>
Respond to resident complaints.</li><li>
Work cooperatively with clinical and maintenance staff sited at the project and with visiting providers; refer residents to clinical and other staff as necessary</li><li>
Initiate appropriate response to maintenance requests.</li><li>
Participate in staff meetings and trainings.</li><li>

JOB DEFINITION:
Support, Advocacy, Growth and Employment (SAGE) is DESC's comprehensive outpatient mental health program. SAGE intake specialists, case managers, psychiatrists and nurses assist adults with severe and persistent mental illness in their journey towards recovery. Long-term case management services are provided including help with obtaining and maintaining housing, improving clinical and social stability, and enriching their level of independence and self-sufficiency.
SAGE services are licensed under the Washington State Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery and are provided under contract with King County Mental Health, Chemical Abuse &amp; Dependency Services Division. Services are provided within a Recovery model.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Case Management:<ul><li>
Participate as a member of a multi-disciplinary and multi-departmental team providing on-going case management services to adults with severe and persistent mental illnesses.</li><li>
Collaborate with DESC&rsquo;s Scattered Sites Supportive Housing team in the development of client care and housing retention plans.</li><li>
Provide outreach and engagement services to assigned clients, to initially engage clients and maintain working relationships.</li><li>
Conduct psychosocial assessments; develop goal planners with consumer participation; facilitate linkages to collaborative resources when appropriate.</li><li>
Assume primary responsibility for coordinating all aspects of consumers' support and goal planners. This includes: providing and/or coordinating the delivery of psychiatric treatment; substance abuse treatment; 24-hour support services; and performing acute case management to facilitate consumer access to food, clothing, housing, medical care, financial assistance and vocational training or employment.</li><li>
Advocate for consumers' access to community resources and services, ensuring that consumers' needs are met and rights maintained; consult and collaborate with community providers to ensure continuity of care.</li><li>
Travel locally to outreach consumers; make home visits and assist with home inspections, annual recertifications, address and report any maintenance related concerns and housing retention barriers.</li><li>
Provide crisis intervention and risk assessment; tolerate unusual or unpleasant behavior.</li><li>
Provide counseling, as qualified.</li><li>
Fulfill role of protective payee for some consumers on behalf of the agency, creating monthly budgets with consumers, distributing funds, and assisting with purchases.</li><li>
Establish and maintain professional relationships with landlords and property managers, assisting in building rule enforcement and lease compliance as necessary.</li><li>
Document services provided and adhere to strict administrative deadlines</li></ul>
Living Conditions:
Support your clients with achieving and maintaining healthy living conditions. This can include but is not limited to attending care conferences related to living conditions, outreaching and supporting clients in their residential units with tools and skills to maintain their units, coordinating with housing staff, participating in cleaning out clients&rsquo; units, and documenting barriers to maintaining healthy living conditions.
Other duties &amp; responsibilities:<ul><li>
Participate in psychiatric consultation, supervision, program meetings and in-service trainings; participate in clinical reviews and case conferences for consumers on caseload.</li><li>
Attend external and internal trainings related to landlord/tenant laws, housing vouchers and/or other relevant topics.</li><li>
Comply with the agency's clinical accountability policies and procedures; maintain current and complete clinical and administrative records; participate in quality assurance reviews when assigned.</li><li>
Comply with applicable program research and evaluation procedures.</li><li>
Other duties as assigned.</li></ul>
Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:<ul><li>
Ability to meet Washington Department of Health requirements for registration as a Registered Agency Affiliated Counselor (AAC) or any other superseding credential.</li><li>
Relevant bachelor&rsquo;s degree in social work, psychology, or related behavioral science, OR a combination of 1 year of relevant paid work experience and demonstration of the ability to perform required job duties.</li><li>
Ability to drive an agency or personal vehicle to conduct agency related business. A current Washington State driver's license and insurable driving record are required.</li><li>
Interest in working with clients who are difficult to engage and maintain in traditional mental health/substance use disorder programs.</li><li>
Knowledge of Recovery focused, strengths-based work in mental health.</li><li>
Knowledge of Harm Reduction strategies.</li><li>
Ability to work effectively with clients displaying a wide range of unpleasant and/or bizarre behaviors.</li><li>

Master's degree in social work, psychology or other relevant behavioral science or Bachelor of Nursing degree with specialty in mental health.</li><li>
Bilingual in Spanish and English.</li><li>
Bicultural background/experience and/or Qualified Minority Mental Health Specialist designation.</li></ul>

The Role:
As the Senior Corporate Counsel, you'll be a pivotal force in delivering strategic and practical legal advice and support across Providence St. Joseph Health. Working under the guidance of the Department of Legal Affairs (DLA) Leadership, you will handle a wide range of transactional and contracting matters within the organization. Your expertise will be essential in drafting and negotiating transaction documents focused on complex arrangements, such as asset purchases, mergers, strategic affiliations, joint ventures, partnerships, financing, and credit deals, as well as internal reorganizations of service lines and operations. Experience with entity formation, corporate finance, and transactions involving health care organizations, both for-profit and non-profit, will be advantageous. Additionally, you'll provide legal guidance and support for intricate business arrangements and associated commercial contracts.
What You'll Do:
<ul><li>Offer valuable legal advice and strategic business consultation to executive management teams and other internal business partners.</li>
<li>Draft, review, and negotiate transaction documents and contracts focusing on complex agreements, including mergers, acquisitions, corporate finance transactions, joint ventures, strategic alliances, and internal reorganizations.</li>
<li>Draft and review legal documents, including but not limited to governing documents (e.g. articles and bylaws etc.) ensuring compliance with applicable statutes, regulations, and policies.</li>
<li>Aid internal business teams with various legal and corporate projects and business arrangements.</li>
<li>Work closely with internal stakeholders in finance, operations, and compliance to structure and execute transactions aligned with business objectives.</li>
<li>Assist with and conduct legal due diligence in connection with corporate transactions.</li>
<li>Identify, assess, and manage legal and business risks associated with contracts and transactions.</li>
<li>Help develop and implement contracting policies and standard templates to streamline organizational processes.</li>
<li>Collaborate within DLA to optimize the delivery of legal services, ensure consistent, effective legal advice, and manage legal resources.</li>
<li>Draft, review, and negotiate a wide array of commercial contracts, including vendor, service, and partnership agreements.</li>
<li>Function independently regarding highly complex contracts and transactions.</li>
<li>Assume responsibility for administrative functions within DLA as assigned.</li>
</ul>What You'll Bring:
<ul><li>Educational Background: Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.</li>
<li>Licensure Requirement: Active admission and license to practice law in either California or Washington, or willingness to obtain such a license.</li>
<li>Experience: At least 10 years of relevant experience (law firm experience is a plus) with a focus on transaction, commercial contracting, and healthcare-related matters preferred.</li>
<li>Proficiency: Strong proficiency in drafting and negotiating agreements related to mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance transactions, joint ventures, strategic alliances, and internal reorganizations.</li>
<li>Specialized Experience: Experience with entity formation, corporate finance, healthcare organizations, and both for-profit and non-profit transactions preferred.</li>
