Job Description 
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Traffic and Modelling Engineer to join our team in Doha, Qatar. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the monitoring and identifying actions for improving on the traffic operations performance of the Roads Management Centre (RMC) and Tunnels Control Centres and for the analysis and preparation of operational improvement strategies.
You will deliver the monthly traffic operations related performance reporting of the RMC and Tunnels Operations and the traffic modelling and ad-hoc reporting required to support the traffic management of major incidents and special events.
Key responsibilities include:

Pro-active review of corridor performance, performing micro- and macro-simulation modelling where required and tracking and refining the resulting changes</li><li>
Coordinate the update of SCATS controller personality change requests and perform the necessary quality review</li><li>
Deliver the analysis and response to any customer complaints relating to Traffic Signal timing and performance, ensuring responses and actions are performed within the Service Level Agreement (SLA) timings. Lead the root cause analysis of traffic signal and corridor performance related complaints</li><li>
Support special event coordination with key stakeholders such as Ministry of Interior, Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy and the Ministry of Transport</li><li>

Qualifications

About the Role 
We are seeking skilled and experienced Roads Management Centre (RMC) and Tunnel Control Room Operators to join our team in Doha, Qatar. In this critical role, you will be responsible for monitoring and operating Roads and Tunnels systems for one of the operational zones of Qatar, ensuring the safe, efficient and effective management of traffic. Note: this role is shift based to support 24/7/365 operations of the RMC and Tunnels Control Rooms.
Key responsibilities include:<ul><li>
Monitor and manage the RMC and Tunnels systems to detect incidents and congestion and achieve the performance SLAs for network, corridor, junction and incident management</li><li>
Identify performance improvement opportunities for congestion, incident and major event traffic management</li><li>
Coordinating with key stakeholders such as Drainage Management Centre, Ministry of Interior, Baladiya and Hamad Medical Corporation to safely manage incidents and events</li><li>
Following and implementing Standard Operating Procedures, emergency plans and severe weather response plans where applicable</li><li>
Regularly updating the RMC or Tunnels Team Leader during escalated events and incidents that RMC and Tunnels Control Rooms are managing or supporting</li><li>
Monitoring SCATS, SCADA and ATMS systems and making adjustments to manage short term congestion and corridor performance recovery following incidents and manual interventions</li><li>
Ensuring equipment faults or availability that are impacting operations are reported to the Team Leader immediately</li><li>
Detecting and responding to roads incidents to achieve performance SLAs</li><li>
Supporting the delivery of the RMC daily reports, major incident reports and monthly performance reports</li><li>
Managing the coordination of emergency works with zonal and strategic highways framework contractors</li><li>
Setting and removing traffic management response plans and DMS messaging plans in accordance with scheduled traffic diversion plans (TDP) and supporting major events</li><li>
Support the regular review and update of standard operating procedures and response plans</li><li>
Staying updated on industry best practices and innovative technologies in roads operations</li><li>
Complying with health, safety, and environmental regulations in the RMC and Tunnel Control Rooms.</li></ul> 
What do we need from you 
<ul><li>
Minimum of 3 years&rsquo; experience. Traffic Operations and Control Room experience desirable</li><li>
Experience operating traffic and tunnel control room systems (Genetec, SCATS, ATMS, SCADA etc.) desirable</li><li>
Knowledge of road infrastructure maintenance and operations, particularly in Qatar or the Middle East region</li><li>
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail</li><li>
Proficient in MS Office Suite and relevant road management software</li><li>
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities</li><li>
Knowledge of Qatar or Middle East road standards and regulations</li><li>
Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment</li><li>
Proficiency in English required, proficiency in Arabic is desirable</li></ul>
