Assist teachers in preparation of curriculum guides, lesson plans, and bibliographies.</li><li>

The Purpose of the MS/HS Learning Commons Assistant: </b>To assist in the efficient functioning of the Middle/High School Library and to provide effective library service to all students and staff.</div><div></div><div><br>
 <b>Qualifications:</b></div><ul><li>
Preferred: 4-year BA/BS degree.</li><li>
Associate of Arts Degree or equivalent.</li><li>
Fluent English language capability.</li><li>
Computer and typing skills.</li><li>
Strong interpersonal skills.</li><li>
Ability to communicate successfully with students and teachers.</li><li>
Exemplary organizational skills.</li></ul><div>

Reports to:</b></div><ul><li>
Middle/High School Librarian.</li><li>
Middle School or High School Principal.</li></ul><div>
</div><div><b>Performance Responsibilities:</b></div><ul><li>
Contributes to library and/or school-wide educational program, organization, and management:<ul><li>
Contributes to and maintains assigned library records and files in a complete, up-to-date manner.</li><li>
Assists in the planning, creating, and distribution of library promotional activities and materials.</li><li>
Creates bibliographies, letters, purchase requests, and routine correspondence.</li><li>
Assists library patrons in locating, circulating, and using resources.</li><li>
Retrieves materials as requested by teachers and/or the librarian.</li></ul></li><li>
Assists with the organization and management of all library and curricular areas as directed by the librarian.<ul><li>
Maintains instructional materials as required.</li><li>
Prepares, compiles and copies instructional materials.</li><li>
Receives, checks, and processes new materials and equipment.</li><li>
Maintains materials and equipment.</li><li>
Organizes, schedules and circulates materials and equipment.</li><li>
Shelves materials returned to the MS/HS Library.</li><li>
Maintains a welcoming environment in the MS/HS Library.</li><li>
Assists with inventory and weeding procedures.</li></ul></li><li>
Contributes to management of students&rsquo; behavior within and outside the MS/HS Library.<ul><li>
Works with students to maintain an orderly atmosphere.</li><li>
Completes supervisory duties assigned to ensure the safety of students.</li></ul></li><li>
Understands and exhibits good judgment in interpersonal and human relations with colleagues, students, and parents.<ul><li>
Develops rapport with students.</li><li>
Promotes positive self-concept in students.</li><li>
Uses communications skills and conflict-resolution strategies to promote positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.</li><li>
Helps direct library volunteers.</li></ul></li><li>
Participates in other duties as assigned by the Librarian.</li></ul><div><br>
<b>
Terms of Employment:</b></div><div>
Salary will be assigned from the Classified Salary Schedule; the contract term will be 190 days.</div><div>
