Position Overview</b></div><div>
Most Americans identify the influence of big money in politics as the #1 threat to American self-government. American Promise is leading a national campaign to advance an amendment to the U.S. Constitution that restores the authority of states and Congress to set reasonable limits on campaign money.</div><div>
American Promise seeks a Strategic Communications Specialist to support state-level communications and media relations in support of legislative efforts, working closely with state leaders and the partnerships team and serving as a key communications partner to internal teams advancing this work. Reporting to the Chief Communications Officer, the Manager will play a central role in shaping state-level messaging, pitching stories, placing op-eds, securing press coverage for legislative wins and organizational milestones, and helping drive day-to-day communications execution. This role will also collaborate on a broader range of communications efforts, including social media, message development, content creation, and other strategic communications that support the organization&rsquo;s mission and priorities.</div><div>
Ratifying this amendment requires supermajority support from the American people and their elected representatives in both Congress and the states. Achieving that support demands a communications strategy that can reach, inspire, and mobilize Americans across the political and ideological spectrum.</div><div>
Our strategy is rooted in state-based momentum. To date, 24 states have formally called on Congress to advance this amendment, or one like it, with new efforts underway in Texas, Ohio, and beyond. The Strategic Communications Specialist will join a small, collaborative communications team. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in a remote work environment and collaborates effectively across remote teams.</div><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
