The TRiO SSC teaches courses, coordinates activities, as well as meticulously documents student participation for the federal TRiO Student Support Services Grant. Under general supervision:</div><ul><li>
Provides advising related to academics, degree planning, financial aid/scholarships, career counseling, financial literacy, soft skills, helping students with disabilities obtain accommodations and other support actions as necessary for the program</li><li>
Implements retention initiatives to retain students in the program</li><li>
Provides guidance/support to help students overcome barriers and accomplish their academic goals</li><li>
Provides transfer assistance to students transferring to four-year colleges to pursue a Bachelor&rsquo;s degree</li><li>
Assists with identifying, recruiting, interviewing and selecting students for the program</li><li>
Assists with promotion, marketing, and recruitment activities for the program</li><li>
Assist in program development and evaluation for continuous improvement</li><li>
Develops and presents workshops for program participants</li><li>
Arranges and participates in cultural enrichment activities for program participants</li><li>
Maintains comprehensive records of services provided and program participant contacts</li><li>

<p></p><div><p><b>Qualifications:</b></p><p><b>
Experience </b>&ndash; Two years&rsquo; experience in academic advising, assessing, instructing, tutoring, and/or assisting in an educational setting involving student activities, confidence-building experiences and fostering leadership skills. Experience working with similar populations or in a TRiO program preferred.</p><p><b>
Education </b>&ndash; Bachelor&rsquo;s degree required in education (preferred), counseling or related field. Master&rsquo;s degree preferred<b> </b>in education, counseling, social work, or higher education administration.</p><div><b>
Skills/Experience:</b> Academic advising, financial aid, college admissions, degree requirements, career counseling, student development theory, academic study skills, transfer processes, disability services and best practice models, which address barriers for first generation and low-income students.</div><div><b>

Butler County Community College (BC3) is currently accepting applications for the position of Student Success Coach. This is a regular, full-time tenure track non-teaching faculty position that will begin immediately. Evening hours as needed.</p><p>
Reporting to the Director of Student Access and Success, the Student Success Coach will work to oversee and support the disability service, tutoring, and retention programs at both BC3 @ Cranberry and BC3 @ Armstrong and the college&rsquo;s Main Campus. This includes providing accommodations and support services to students with disabilities in credit and non-credit programs; assisting and supporting BC3&rsquo;s staff and faculty with the day-to-day delivery of tutoring and disability services to students at all campus locations; and assists with overseeing tutors and academic aides at off campus sites. In addition, the Student Success Coach will work with a caseload of students to proactively connect them with resources, to communicate important deadlines and to use coaching strategies to encourage student success. Master&rsquo;s degree from an accredited institution in Counseling, Adult Education, Student Personnel, Higher Education, Social Work, Psychology, or related field required. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills required. Must possess and maintain a valid driver&rsquo;s license. Experience working with students with disabilities preferred. Working knowledge of tutoring programs and/or experience as a tutor or instructor preferred. Experience in academic coaching or retention support programs preferred. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office products (primarily Word, Excel and Outlook) and familiarity with accessibility technologies preferred. Strong understanding of college student development and transition theories, and experience working with academically underprepared students preferred.</p><p>

<p>We are seeking a Part-Time Academic Coach/Tutor to travel to the homes of students (grades 5-12) throughout Charlotte, NC, and tutor them one-on-one with a focus on organization, executive functioning skills, and study skills during after-school hours (3pm-8pm). Must have advanced knowledge of executive functioning skills. We help students to feel better with our expertise and a coaching mentality!</p><p><b>Responsibilities:</b></p><ul><li>Drive up to 30 minutes to various home locations (Many families are located in South Charlotte).</li><li>Schedule sessions during times that work for both you and the family.</li><li>Integrate executive functioning skills, organization, and study skills into the homework that the student has for that week.</li><li>Create weekly, concrete goals with the student.</li><li>Communicate and strategize with parents, teachers, and specialists</li><li>Read and integrate neuro-psych evaluations, 504 plans, and IEP's into session plans.</li><li>Research and plan for sessions.</li><li>Free training and worksheets will be provided.</li><li>Basic administrative tasks such as email reminders, use of Google calendar, and Google Forms.</li><li>Independent Contractor position.</li></ul><p><b>Qualifications</b></p><ul><li>Master&rsquo;s Degree in Special Education, English Education, or Education.</li><li>3 years of classroom teaching/tutoring experience.</li><li>Experience teaching students with ADHD, ASD, anxiety and depression.</li><li>Advanced knowledge of Executive Functioning Skills and Study Skills.</li><li>Experience reading and interpreting Neuropsychological Evaluations, 504 Plans, and IEP&rsquo;s.</li><li>Experience teaching Reading Comprehension and Writing Techniques to middle and/or high school students.</li><li>Confidence communicating with and advising parents.</li><li>Possess a positive &ldquo;coach&rdquo; mentality, process-oriented, familiarity with goal setting, and holding students accountable.</li><li>Impeccable time management skills and detail-oriented.</li></ul><p>Job Type: Contract</p><p>Pay: $75.00 per hour</p><p>Benefits:</p><ul><li>Flexible schedule</li><li>Professional development assistance</li></ul><p>Education:</p><ul><li>Master's (Required)</li></ul><p>Experience:</p><ul><li>Teaching or Tutoring: 3 years (Preferred)</li></ul><p>Work Location: In person</p>

Job Description</b><p><b><br>
We are seeking a College Success Coach to serve as an advisor and counselor for a caseload of scholars at every step of their educational journey, beginning in the spring of 12th grade through college completion and career planning.</b></p><ul><li>
Provide a holistic approach to support students in meeting their goals by creating individualized action plans for each scholar around their career, well-being, finances, and academics near the beginning of each academic year, updating throughout the year, as needed.</li><li>
Provide follow-through when executing each scholar's individualized plan, holding scholars accountable, and providing encouragement, resources, activities, and guidance.</li><li>
Utilize our suite of resources to support scholars from tutoring, health and wellness referrals, internships, career/graduate school planning, etc.</li><li>
Review midterm scholar progress reports and adjust the scholar&rsquo;s action plan, as needed.</li><li>
Support scholars through the scholarship renewal process: reviewing transcripts and upcoming term course schedules, updating graduation projections, etc., ensuring programmatic data is clear and accurate.</li><li>
Collaborate with fellow Coaches and Wonderful College Ambassadors to provide added support.</li><li>
Participate in team workgroups, focused on various topics.</li><li>
Occasionally lead and support school or virtually-based workshops</li><li>
Begin supporting rising college freshmen beginning in early summer, including overnight summer camps, and on-campus kickoff events.</li><li>
Ability and willingness to tutor, where possible.</li><li>
Other duties as assigned.</li></ul><br>

Qualifications</b><br>

Familiarity with case management methodology</li><li>
Understanding of college success strategies, particularly for first-generation students</li><li>
Strong understanding of study techniques</li><li>
Tutoring capability in some subjects, especially STEM, a plus</li></ul><p><b><i>
