Substance Use Counselor I responsibilities:<ul><li>
Conducts client interviews to review substance use disorder and treatment history.</li><li>
Evaluates client response to treatment to recommend modifications to the treatment plan and assist with caseloads and development of individualized treatment plan and preparing individually appropriate goals, interventions, and necessary support.</li><li>
Assists with and provides basic didactic group counseling, including psychoeducation, drug education, and family education to ensure peer support occurs.</li><li>
Provides individual client counseling, educational programs and lectures to address relapse prevention, problem solving, behavior modification, anger management, etc., and to assist in overcoming substance use disorder, adjusting to pro-social life, and making cognitive and behavioral changes.</li><li>
Under direct supervision and with supervisor&rsquo;s approval, carries case load, per State and contract requirements.</li><li>
Collaborates with clients to develop discharge summary and plans for supervisor&rsquo;s approval to integrate aftercare treatment with referral resource services.</li><li>
Coordinates required services to resolve emergency problems in crisis situations in support of continued recovery.</li><li>
Collects and maintains treatment records and reports to ensure organizational, regulatory, accreditation, and contractual compliance.</li><li>

Job Requirements:<ul><li>
Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in a helping profession from an accredited college or university</li><li>
Some previous experience substance use treatment/counseling and/or mental health counseling is preferred</li><li>

About Our Atascocita Location (Harris County): 
Gateway&rsquo;s largest facility, Atascocita is a residential correctional center focused solely on substance use treatment for court-ordered clients. With 12 buildings and nearly 500 clients, the facility provides a structured, secure environment without armed guards. Staff work collaboratively in a team of 170, including counselors, probation officers, and support staff. The location is undergoing major renovations to become a state-of-the-art treatment center. Clinical Supervisor responsibilities:<ul><li>
Provides clinical supervision to staff responsible for delivering services to individuals with mental health and/or substance use disorders.</li><li>
Oversees client services and ensures compliance with established program standards and service delivery objectives.</li><li>
Recruits, orients, trains, schedules and evaluates the performance of assigned staff.</li><li>
Serves as a resource to assigned staff in identifying and resolving complex case problems.</li><li>

Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in psychology, social work, counseling or equivalent work experience required. Master's degree preferred.</li><li>
Minimum of 100 hours documented clinical training in counseling theory and practice, plus a minimum of 3 hours of clinical supervision training.</li><li>
3-5 years of experience in a related field, with at least 12 hours of supervisory training and a minimum of 6 months treatment experience, and knowledge of up to date techniques and modalities, and case management, within assigned treatment program required.</li></ul>

Overview:

The Housing Works Inc. Alternative to Incarceration (ATI) Program is a collaboration between Housing Works and the Mayor&rsquo;s Office of Criminal Justice (MOCJ) to provide individuals 18 years of age and older with open legal cases with comprehensive, holistic behavioral health services in lieu of jail or prison. Individuals with open cases in Brooklyn or Manhattan criminal or supreme courts are eligible for the following court-mandated services: case management, substance use and mental health services, individual counseling, group level interventions and peer support.

Reporting to the Clinical Coordinator, the Counselor will be primarily responsible for providing individual counseling for clients with a history or active substance use or behavioral health needs, facilitating evidence-based group level interventions, supporting clients non-compliant with the court mandates and promoting engagement and retention in program services. The ideal candidate will have an active NYS CASAC license or previous experience providing substance misuse or behavioral health counseling and experience providing services for individuals within the court-mandated treatment sector. 


Responsibilities:

Primary:
<ul>
<li>Assist with conducting LCSMI risk-needs assessments with newly referred clients as needed.</li>
<li>Provides individual counseling in accordance with clients&rsquo; court mandates with clients assigned to caseload.</li>
<li>Facilitates three to four evidence-based group counseling sessions weekly.</li>
<li>Participate in interdisciplinary case conferences and care coordination activities.</li>
<li>Work closely with clients to promote positive engagement in services and to maintain compliance with court mandates.</li>
<li>Engage in crisis intervention as needed.</li>
<li>Participate and support clients through discharge planning and connection to after care services prior to program completion.</li>
<li>Thoroughly and frequently document client engagement and services provided within the electronic record system.</li>
<li>Actively participate in program, department and agency meetings.</li>
<li>Promotes Housing Works&rsquo; core values in day to day activities.</li>

The Clinical Supervisor oversees the clinical supervision of counselors in training or working towards certification/licensure and provides guidance to the counseling team. <div>Court Based Treatment and Diversion is seeking a Clinician! The Clinician provides clinical, assessment, treatment planning and consultation services for individuals with mental illness, including those with co-occurring substance use and/or developmental disabilities. Works on site at the General District Court to assist the Court by providing assessment at or prior to the time of arraignment and treatment recommendations. Develops and maintains working relationships with individuals served, families and/or caregivers, other NRVCS programs, and other community agencies and resources as needed to ensure quality services. Provides all services with the intention of helping divert individuals to appropriate community treatment. 
Starting Salary: $50,400-Depending on Experience 
Education/Experience Required:
