The Registered SUD Counselor working under moderate supervision provides counsel and support to patients suffering from drug or alcohol dependency, educate families in the best ways to help in the recovery process, and work with both inpatient clients and those participating in outpatient programs.  Additionally, we provide transitional support for individuals re-entering the community after involvement

The Male Community Reentry Program (MCRP), a program of HealthRIGHT 360, is a residential facility
 with a capacity of 200 beds, designed for adult males who have less than two years remaining on their
 prison sentences. Instead of being incarcerated in a state prison, eligible individuals can complete the
 remainder of their sentences in the community through MCRP. The program offers a variety of
 rehabilitative services focused on substance use disorder (SUD), mental health care, primary care,
 employment, education, housing, family reunification, and social support. Treatment for substance use
 disorders and mental health issues provided by MCRP typically lasts from 6 to 12 months, ensuring
 comprehensive support for participants.
 
The SUD Counselor III is an integral part of an interdisciplinary team that supports our clients through
 assessment of their needs and strengths in support of their health and recovery. This in-person role
 involves providing counseling in both individual and group settings, delivering curricula in accordance with
 program-specific requirements, offering case management, and assisting clients in navigating systems of
 care—all while fostering a supportive treatment environment.
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
 Treatment Setting

<li>Maintain an assigned caseload of up to 25 clients, depending on the program staffing pattern and</li>

The Martin Luther King Jr. Behavioral Health Center (MLK BHC) is a program of HealthRIGHT 360 and is
 contracted with the Department of Public Health's Substance Abuse Prevention and Control (SAPC)
 program. MLK BHC offers residential Drug Medi-Cal (DMC) services for a maximum of 99 adult individuals,
 comprising 33 beds each for judicially involved men, men, and women. MLK BHC collaborates closely with
 other Behavioral Health Center programs to ensure a comprehensive range of services for low-income
 and Medi-Cal-eligible individuals. Situated on the Martin Luther King Jr. Hospital campus in the
 Willowbrook area of South Los Angeles, the program serves residents of all Los Angeles County.

Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>

JOB SUMMARY
 HealthRIGHT 360, a nonprofit organization and a family of programs, is committed to providing accessible and comprehensive healthcare services to vulnerable populations. Additionally, we provide transitional support for individuals re-entering the community after involvement in the criminal justice system. The African American Healing Center is working with clients to prevent and reduce violence in our communities. Services are designed to meet the needs of people with all backgrounds, while proactively serving communities of color with programs that honor African American history and that are sensitive to the cultural context of each client.
 
The Clinical Therapist works collaboratively with a team consisting of Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Counselors to provide valuable insight, direction, and oversight of Drug Medi-Cal (DMC) services. Under the DMC model, they are qualified to establish medical necessity and approve SUD treatment plans. Maintains an assigned caseload of clients seeking substance use treatment and mental health treatment. In this position an individual would conduct face-to-face assessments, individual counseling sessions, and progress reviews with each client. Additionally, they are responsible for providing safe, supportive, and confidential counseling; maintaining a culturally competent stance; and creating and maintaining a trauma informed program environment at all times.
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
 
Clinical Therapist Responsibilities:

<li>Maintain appropriate/ethical boundaries with all clients and families served.</li>
<li>Facilitate timely access to mental health services on site and within the community.</li>
<li>Act as a liaison between other programs and referring agencies.</li>
<li>Serves as the point of contact and coordinates referrals and follow-ups with health agencies.</li>
<li>Conduct mental health assessments and ensure follow up from each client and treatment counselor.</li>
<li>Identify treatment needs, recommend treatment plans based on assessment, and works to ensure clients are able meet all requirements.</li>

<li>Monitor client conduct, record client activity, and inform colleagues of potential challenges in treatment episodes.</li>

Self-Care Wellness Plan: 
<ul>
<li>In collaboration with supervisor, develop and maintain a self-care wellness plan (strategies to maintain physical, psychological/mental, emotional/relational, and spiritual health) to prevent compassion fatigue.</li>
</ul>
Documentation Responsibilities: 
<ul>
<li>Daily maintenance of monitoring of EMR report, to prevent and clear any compliance errors in records.</li>
<li>Conducts assessments, develops treatment plans, completes release and consent forms, billing and reporting paperwork in hard copy and online in various electronic systems.</li>
<li>In addition, completes assigned Drug Medi-Cal, Medicare and Medi-Cal documentation and billing.</li>
<li>Documents individual and group services delivered in various electronic systems in accordance with guidelines established by HealthRIGHT 360 to satisfy internal and external evaluating requirements.</li>

Other responsibilities:

<li>Schedules weekly team meetings and creates the agenda in coordination with the administrative assistant or other assigned individual.</li>

QUALIFICATIONS
 
Education, Certification, and Experience

<li>BBS Registered with Board of Behavioral or Board of Behavioral Sciences (AMFT, APCC, ACSW).</li>
