DPR Construction is seeking a Telecom Project Engineer with a minimum of 2 years of telecommunications or commercial construction experience to join our data center division. The Telecom Project Engineer will primarily support the Project Manager in overseeing telecommunications projects, focusing on data center infrastructure, including structured cabling, fiber optics, outside plant (OSP) deployments, and low-voltage systems. This role is designed as a developmental position, with the goal of preparing the candidate to transition into a Project Manager role within 1-2 years. The Project Engineer will collaborate with project teams and subcontractors to ensure projects align with DPR&rsquo;s safety, quality, and performance standards.
Responsibilities
<ul><li>Support the Project Manager in overseeing project execution from design through handover, ensuring telecommunications infrastructure meets project specifications.

Summary: 
This position is responsible for leading the planning, execution, and delivery of telecommunications projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget while following industry standard project management methodologies. This role manages cross-functional teams and coordinates with stakeholders across engineering, service delivery, service assurance, construction, network operations, procurement, marketing, system development and customer care among others, to deliver projects across many areas including network deployments, infrastructure upgrades, software and system development projects and new product/service implementation.
 
Duties and Responsibilities: 
Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
 
<ul>
<li>Plan, initiate, manage and deliver end-to-end projects, for assigned initiatives including but not limited to network upgrades, service deployments, infrastructure installations, software/platform conversions, solution development and migrations.</li>
<li>Manage all aspects of assigned projects, including planning, scheduling, communication, change management, budgeting, and execution.</li>
<li>Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.</li>
<li>Drive cross-functional collaboration across engineering, field operations, billing operations, customer systems, and field operations support teams.</li>
<li>Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.</li>
<li>Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.</li>
<li>Develop and maintain project budgets and forecasts, and ensure projects are completed within budget.</li>
<li>Proactively manage and document changes in project scope, identify potential issues, and devise contingency plans.</li>
<li>Monitor project progress and performance and communicate project status and updates to stakeholders in a timely and professional manner.</li>
<li>Conduct project post-mortems and create recommendation reports to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.</li>
<li>Create and maintain superior project documentation, including project plans, status reports, action registers, deliverable matrices, RACIs, risk and issue logs.</li>
<li>Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards.</li>
<li>Support post-implementation reviews to assess project outcomes, capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement.</li>
<li>Other duties as assigned.</li>

Qualifications:

Education/Experience: 
<ul>
<li>High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.</li>
<li>10+ years of project management experience required with demonstrated growth in the complexity of projects managed.</li>
<li>7+ years of telecom project management experience required. Prefer experience in complex network migrations, consolidations, technology implementations, large-scale customer conversions, and experience in software platform development and migrations.</li>
<li>Exceptional communication and presentation skills are required.</li>
<li>Merger and acquisition experience is strongly preferred.</li>
<li>PMP and change management certification preferred but not required.</li>
</ul>
Computer Skills: 
<ul>
<li>Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.</li>
<li>Prefer candidates who have extensive experience with Smartsheets and utilizing automation capabilities, including email or chat task updates, and other advanced platform capabilities.</li>
<li>Ability to create, manage, and analyze project plans, schedules, budgets, and timelines using project management tools.</li>
<li>Ability to create, manage, and track action registers and timelines.</li>
<li>Proficiency in generating reports, presentations, and documentation to communicate project status and performance metrics.</li>
<li>Skilled in managing digital workflows, task assignments, and resource tracking in a collaborative team environment.</li>
<li>Competence in handling data entry, analysis, and tracking to support decision-making and project optimization.</li>
<li>Ability to navigate and utilize communication and collaboration platforms for team coordination and stakeholder engagement.</li>
<li>Demonstrated ability to utilize AI technologies to enhance project management effectiveness.</li>
