<div>Summary: This position is responsible for the transportation of patients, equipment, specimens, medical records and miscellaneous items throughout the entire medical center campus. Employees are responsible for dispatching and prioritizing runs. They transport preoperative and postoperative patients to and from the operating room. These employees keep track of their daily statistics and finalize report at end of the month. Responsibilities:

(50%)*</b> Transport patients throughout the medical center including occasional ones to Riecker Surgery Center, Campus Ridge or Women&rsquo;s Center. Transports pre- and post-op patients to and from operating room and PACU. Discharges patients.</div><div><br>
</div><div><b>(25%)*</b> Transports supplies, equipment, specimens, medical records throughout the medical center including Riecker Surgery Center.</div><div><br>
</div><div><b>(25%)*</b> Works as dispatcher and prioritizes runs based on patient needs. Utilizes good communication skills.</div><div></div><div><b><br>
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
</b></div><div>Performs tasks on computer.</div><div><br>
</div><div>Records daily and monthly stats.</div><div><br>
</div><div>In the performance of the regular job duties, it is appropriate for this job code to have access to the medication room and supply room for the purpose of stocking.</div><div></div><div><br>
Follows established safety procedures: patient identification, safe transfers, prepares and maintains O2, Follows universal precautions, assures transport devices are cleaned between each transport, maintains confidentiality and documents on medical record.</div><div><br>

<b>Van Driver ( CNA ) Major Duties and Critical Tasks:</b><br>

<li>The Transportation Aide is responsible for transporting patients and/or specimens upon request</li>
<li>Transports patients using wheelchairs and with stretcher transports</li>
<li>Transports specimens to the laboratory, and delivers blood and blood products in a timely manner</li>
<li>Picks up slides for physicians to review from laboratory as requested</li>
<li>Obtains supplies from central supply as requested</li>
<li>Participates/uses the automated systems in a timely and accurate manner to assist with patient throughout</li>
