You will help to prevent and deter crime through:<ul><li>
Performing both regular and random patrols of multiple premises</li><li>

When necessary, performing control procedures</li><li>

A Security Officer must be able to detect and identify sounds relevant to fires, floods, alarm signals, and persons in distress against distracting sound background conditions (e.g., machinery, traffic noise, etc.)</li><li>
A Security Officer must be able to: Walk, Run, Stand, Climb, Sit.</li><li>
A Security Officer must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. waist high, if required.</li><li>
A Security Officer must be in good mental health and be able to make decisions instantly on the event of an emergency.</li><li>
A Security Officer must meet the physical and mental requirements of the state(s) to be licensed by the state to perform Security Guard / Security Officer work.</li><li>

SUMMARY: Ensures compliance of the company’s security and property protection programs of associates and guests by performing various duties.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.

<li>Conducts the following activities: first response, fire prevention, traffic control, guarding and patrolling physical property, orienting and monitoring of personnel and investigation of property damage, motor vehicle accidents and criminal acts in accordance with company policies and applicable laws/regulations.</li>
<li>Works with law enforcement as it relates to crimes if reportable</li>
<li>Investigates/interviews guest trespassing offenses</li>
<li>Documents shift information</li>
<li>Performs surveillance of guest and employees as it relates to theft or other suspicious activity, both plain clothed and uniformed</li>
<li>Gathers and documents evidence as it relates to theft</li>
<li>Testifies in court/deposition as a witness in all his/her cases brought to trial</li>
<li>Addresses and resolves complaints/problems within security/safety scope of responsibility.</li>

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Level 3
 High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
 
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Level 3
 Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
 
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Level 2
 Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
 
REASONING ABILITY: Level 4
 Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
