You will be responsible for approving new mortgage applications within the Standard, Professional and portfolio But To Let product offering, and working to add value to the entire BTL process. <strong>You will also be repsonsible for managing more junior members of the team.</strong></p> <p><strong>Duties of the Buy to Let Underwriter:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Foster strong partnerships with the BTL Underwriting and Credit teams.</li><li>Provide input and authorize credit decisions within delegated authority to promote responsible portfolio growth in alignment with Credit Policy.</li><li>Assess and underwrite mortgage applications with higher risk profiles.</li><li>Make lending decisions in accordance with the Credit Risk Policy, Responsible Lending Policy, and individual mandate limits.</li><li>Act as an escalation point for team members, offering guidance, coaching, and training where necessary.</li><li>Take a holistic approach to applications, considering overall customer needs and outcomes.</li><li>Oversee new applications, correspondence, and pre-submission queries while meeting service level agreements.</li><li>Proactively manage a pipeline of applications from submission through to completion.</li><li>Collaborate with a pre-approved panel of Introducers to ensure swift, accurate, and consistent underwriting outcomes.</li><li>Adhere to internal guidelines and regulatory frameworks, including FCA, PRA, AML, Financial Crime Prevention, and Data Protection standards.</li><li>Take on project responsibilities and complete ad-hoc tasks as directed by management.</li></ul> <p><strong>Requirements for the successful Buy to Let Underwriter:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Minimum of 5 years' experience within underwriting and / or credit exposure within the BTL / Portfolio BTL market</li><li>Candidates will currently be holding a non-entry level lending mandate</li><li>Candidates must have managerial experience</li><li>Experience liaising with Introducers and external customers</li><li>CeMAP Qualified highly desirable</li><li>Understanding and experience of the regulatory environment</li></ul> <p>This vacancy is being advertised by Montpellier Resourcing Associates Limited.
