POSITION SUMMARY:</b></p><p>

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</b></p><p>
1. Tack weld and sub arc weld parts per the appropriate weld procedure as supervised by a qualified welder.</p><p>
2. Read and interpret shop routings, work instructions, and elementary blueprints.</p><p>
3. Conduct computer functions on a day to day basis.</p><p>
4. Set-up the job per the appropriate weld procedures and work instructions</p><p>
5. General maintenance &ndash; changing tips, liners, wire, gas, etc.</p><p>
6. Clean and inspect all finished sub-assemblies as trained and receive final approval by a qualified welder.</p><p>
7. Store finished sub-assemblies and un-used parts per proper procedures.</p><p><b>
MARGINAL RESPONSIBILITIES:</b></p><p>
1. May be directed to perform other tasks due to a decrease in the work load, machine is down for maintenance or a critical need exists in another area.</p><p>

The work environment in a warehouse/manufacturing environment. Employees are required to wear PPE at all times, including steel-toed shoes with metatarsal guards, eye protection, and ear protection. Work is primarily indoors, non-climate controlled. Some positions require exposure to outside elements.</div><br>

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE</b></div>
<ul>
<li>Must be able to lift 35 lbs repeatedly &ndash; a minimum of 2 times per day.</li>
<li>Makes own set-ups including:</li>
<li><ul><li>Positioning of fixtures.</li>
<li>Setting of proper welding heat and rate of travel of welding wire and work.</li>
<li>Load machine with wire and wire reel.</li>
<li>Change gas or add flux as required.</li>
<li>Check set-up and completed parts to insure quality.</li>
</ul></li><li>Loads and unloads fixtures.</li>
<li>Uses electrical or mechanical hoists as required.</li>
<li>Directs the work of a helper when necessary.</li>
<li>Removes slag from weld head.</li>
<li>Directs the positioning and removal of parts and material in work area.</li>
<li>Records the number of parts produced on time card and move ticket.</li>
<li>Performs preventive maintenance, such as changing tips and adjustment of wire feed rolls.</li>
<li>Checks job travelers for special instructions or notes BEFORE proceeding with job assigned.</li>
<li>Performs housekeeping duties as necessary to keep work area safe, clean and in good order.</li></ul><br>

GENERAL SUMMARY:</b></div>
<ul>
<li>Receives job prints, work order and/or instructions from supervisor and proceeds with a minimum of supervision and direction.
</li><li>Perform set up and welding operations on all types of welding machines having strict inspection and test requirements.
</li><li>Set up fixtures; adjust and regulate machine to obtain best possible penetration, fill, weld quality and performance.</li>
<li>Make compensating adjustments to allow for variations and conditions.
</li><li>Operate various types of equipment.
</li><li>Work is given process supervision and check; completed work is tested and inspected.
</li><li>Perform other work of similar of comparable nature incidental to the performance of the operation.
</li><li>Measure scribes, position, lay out materials, jigs or fixtures, etc., as necessary or directed to insure completion of cycle, maintaining product quality.</li>
<li>Assist new operators in learning the correct and safe operation of the equipment when required.
</li><li>Take care of machines, tools, equipment work areas, etc.</li>
<li>Operator is required to read and write and do arithmetic calculations necessary to perform the job.
</li><li>Requires a knowledge of welding fundamentals.
</li><li>Required to read blueprints and maintain tolerances as shown on prints.</li></ul><br>

Set up and operate welding equipment to include a robotic welder.</li>

Produce quality metal-fabricated parts.</li>

Follow instructions on work orders and blueprints.</li>

Keep work area neat and organized.</li>

REQUIRED SKILLS:</b></p><br>

Proven MIG/mild steel welding skills - prefer 1+ year of current MIG experience on mild steel surfaces. MIG and/or TIG welding experience on other types of surfaces such as stainless steel or aluminum would be considered a plus.</li>
<li>Prior experience with robotic welders would also be considered a plus.</li>
<li><br>
Successful completion of a welding curriculum from an accredited technical college would also be considered a plus.</li>
<li>Must have in-depth welding fabrication skills.</li>
<li>Ability to read or learn how to read welding blueprints containing common weld symbols and weld specifications is desired.</li>
<li>Ability to work in a fast-paced setting.</li>
