We’re looking for a host who embodies the warm and inviting atmosphere of The Nest, creating memorable first impressions and ensuring every guest feels welcome. You’ll thrive in a team-oriented environment, managing seating arrangements and greeting guests with genuine hospitality. This role focuses on delivering exceptional guest experiences through personalized interactions, offering menu recommendations, and ensuring smooth front-of-house operations. The seasonal employment period for positions at Thompson Seattle is anticipated to commence in mid‑May and conclude at the end of September. Exact dates may vary depending on business needs. To be considered for these roles, candidates must maintain open availability for the entire season.

Thompson Seattle colleagues begin accruing Vacation Time on their first day of service. At six months of service, colleagues are vested in the time they have been accruing. Full Time & Part Time Colleagues are eligible for vacation time.

• Hire Date Through Four Years 10 Days or 80 hours
• Five to Nine Years 15 Days or 120 hours
• 10 years or greater 20 Days or 160 hours
• Sick Leave:
  • Full time, part time and on-call colleagues accrue and have the right to utilize sick and safe time according to Seattle s Paid Sick and Safe Time Ordinance. As a Tier Three employer all colleagues accrue one (1) hour of paid sick and safe time for every 30 hours worked starting on their hire date, however, these colleagues cannot use their accrued sick time until they have completed 90-days of employment with Hyatt
• Extended Illness Days: unused sick and safe time in excess of 72 hours converted to Extended Illness Days at the end of each calendar year
• Holiday Pay:
  • Full-time colleagues are eligible for holiday pay on their first day of employment. The paid holidays for eligible colleagues recognized by our hotel are: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and 2 pre-approved days for Floating Holidays.

Wage Information

Hourly role: The hourly rate for this position starts at $23.37 with an increase to $23.87 after 90 days.

Hourly roles with five-year rates: The hourly starting rate for this position is $23.37 with an increase to $23.87 after 90 days. This position also has an established rate for colleagues who remain in the position for five years, which is an additional $0.50

Hourly roles with seven year rates: The hourly starting rate for this position is $23.37 with an increase to $23.87 after 90 days. This position also has an established rate for colleagues who remain in the position for seven years, which is an additional $0.75

Hourly roles with ten-year rates: The hourly starting rate for this position is $23.37 with an increase to $23.87 after 90 days. This position also has an established rate for colleagues who remain in the position for ten years, which is an additional $1.00

  • Customer Service-Oriented: Demonstrated experience in delivering excellent customer service, anticipating guest needs, and resolving any concerns to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage seating arrangements efficiently, ensure smooth guest flow, and handle reservations or waitlists.
  • Menu Knowledge & Recommendations: Familiarity with restaurant menus and ability to make personalized recommendations based on guest preferences.
  • Adaptability: Capable of working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a welcoming and composed demeanor during high-traffic times.
  • Team Player: Collaborates well with other staff members, including servers, kitchen staff, and management, to ensure a seamless dining experience.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to manage final interactions with guests, ensuring all their needs are met and that their dining experience is positive from arrival to departure.
  • Prior Experience in Hospitality or Restaurant Environment: Previous experience as a restaurant host or hostess is highly valuable for success in this role at Hyatt.
