Seasonal Maintenance Worker (Building and Grounds)

POSITION OVERVIEW
Performs routine building and grounds maintenance activities for the City of Fulton. This is a seasonal position. Must be available to work Monday through Friday, 6:30am to 3:00pm. Work is primarily outdoors and requires the ability to perform duties in hot weather conditions.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Experience, Education, and Training

• This is an entry-level position
• Previous experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, mowing, or general labor is preferred but not required

Requirements

• Must be able to work outdoors in heat and varying weather conditions
• Must pass pre-employment drug testing and background check
• Some assignments may require the incumbent to possess a valid Motor Vehicle Operator’s License
• Must be able to follow safety guidelines and wear appropriate safety equipment
• Subject to working occasional adjusted hours as needed

• Operate mowing equipment, weed-eaters, trimmers, and other hand and power tools
• Utilize appropriate safety equipment and follow safety procedures and precautions when carrying out essential functions

FUNCTIONS

Essential Duties

• Mows grass and maintains lawns and landscaped areas throughout City properties
• Operates weed-eaters and edging equipment along sidewalks, fences, and buildings
• Performs general grounds maintenance, including trimming, debris removal, and litter pickup
• Assists with basic maintenance and repair tasks as assigned
• Loads and unloads materials, tools, and equipment
• Maintains equipment and reports maintenance needs as necessary
• Utilizes appropriate safety equipment and procedures
• Assists with other building and grounds duties as assigned
