Position Details

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Health/Physical Education Teacher to join our team at Gwinn Middle/High School. The ideal candidate will foster a positive and engaging learning environment, encouraging students to develop healthy habits, physical fitness, and a lifelong appreciation for wellness. This full-time position requires a commitment to promoting physical education and health education within the school community.

Responsibilities
– Develop and implement comprehensive health and physical education curricula that align with state standards and promote student engagement.
– Create lesson plans that accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities, ensuring all students can participate and succeed.
– Conduct assessments to evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their growth.
– Foster a safe and inclusive classroom environment that encourages teamwork, sportsmanship, and respect among students.
– Organize and supervise physical education activities, including sports, fitness programs, and health-related events.
– Collaborate with other educators and staff to integrate health and wellness concepts across the curriculum.
– Communicate regularly with students, parents, and guardians regarding student progress and participation.
– Stay current with best practices in health and physical education, attending professional development workshops and training as needed.
– Serve as a role model for students by promoting a healthy lifestyle and positive physical activity habits.

Requirements
– Bachelor’s degree in Health Education, Physical Education, or a related field.
– Valid state teaching certification in Health and Physical Education.
– Experience working with middle and high school students preferred.
– Strong knowledge of health and physical education curriculum and instructional strategies.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
– Ability to motivate and inspire students to achieve their full potential.
– Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
– Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive school environment.
