</li></ul>PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: 
<div><ul><li>Provide clerical support on a wide variety of topics and special projects, including those of a sensitive or confidential nature, to successful completion within the required timelines for the Office of the Superintendent.
</li></ul><ul><li>Prepare professional development and purchase card paperwork for approval by the Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent.
</li></ul><ul><li>Provide back up support for needs related to the ISD Board of Education and County School Board Association.
</li></ul><ul><li>Provide support in coordinating needs related to truancy and updating the county truancy guidelines.
</li></ul><ul><li>Gather and maintain knowledge of the requirements for state reporting, pupil accounting, and pupil auditing to assist in pupil auditing requirements.
</li></ul><ul><li>Participate in meetings, workshops, and seminars for the purpose of gathering information required to perform functions associated with pupil accounting and auditing.
</li></ul><ul><li>Assist and back up the SCECH Coordinator, as needed.
</li></ul><ul><li>Assist and back up other ISD Office Assistants, as needed.
</li></ul><ul><li>Perform other duties as assigned by St. Joseph County ISD Administration.
</li></ul>Due to this being a new position, the responsibilities of this role will continue to evolve over time with an annual review to ensure alignments with organizational needs and priorities.

How You Will Make an Impact
The Paraprofessional serve as a knowledgeable professional in the indicated Education Program and/or related service delivery process. This position will assist appropriate educators in servicing students in the specialized program, which includes, but not limited to: Special Education, Literacy, Sign Language Interpreter, English Language Learner and Career Technical Education. The Paraprofessional complete clerical tasks, performs data entry, completes organizational tasks, and provide tutoring support and/or sign language interpretation to students in the specialized program. This position reports to the Principal or designee. 
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

<ul><li>Assist educators in their instructional duties and other general responsibilities such as organizing and providing tutorial support.
</li><li>Complement instructional activities, such as assisting the teacher during the lesson by helping students who may need additional support with instruction.
</li><li>Supplement instruction by assisting the teacher with individuals or small groups of pupils on follow-up activities as specified.
</li><li>Reinforce instruction by assisting the teacher in administering drill activities for individuals or small groups.
</li><li>Provide additional student support including accommodations and online assessments.
</li><li>Facilitate program implementation and support maintenance efforts such as student. transportation, guest speakers, career fairs, field trips, etc.
</li><li>Alert the educator to student behavior issues or other program challenges.
</li><li>Assist in monitoring and proctoring student assignment and tests.
</li><li>Perform clerical tasks for teachers as needed, to include coordination, scheduling of and participation in meetings when requested.
</li><li>Assist educators in contacting parents or adult students and assists in retrieving required forms.
</li><li>Translate communications between students and teachers.
</li><li>Participate in Student Study Team or other meetings relating to student success.
</li><li>Aid the educator in rendering additional attention or data collection for particular students.
</li><li>Demonstrate willingness to learn and build expertise in relevant content areas.
</li><li>Follow directions for activities involved in the development and implementation of student learning plans.
</li><li>Adhere to attendance policy.
</li></ul>For Sign Language Interpreters:
<ul><li>Assist students in the use of sign language or other non-verbal forms of communication.
</li><li>Assist with the instruction deaf and hard of hearing students, individually or in small groups.
</li><li>Perform administrative duties, responsibilities, and activities as assigned. These may be changed or modified from time to time.

</li></ul>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
<ul><li>High school diploma or the equivalent, or completion of 60 college credits, or
</li><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution is required or
</li><li>Eligibility to pass a local assessment of knowledge and skills in assisting in instruction issued by an approved Local education agency in the following areas is preferred.
<ul><li>Knowledge of, and the ability to assist in instructing, reading, writing, and mathematics; or
</li><li>Knowledge of, and the ability to assist in instructing readiness, writing readiness, and mathematics readiness, as appropriate.
</li></ul></li><li>Sign Language Interpreter Qualifications: Fluent in sign language, certified by the national Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) or equivalent, if providing Cued Speech interpretation, be certified by any certifying body recognized by the National Cued Speech Association (NCSA) is preferred.
</li><li>Proficient level of skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other educational technology applications.

ASSIGNED RESPONSIBILITIES:
