TITLE: ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT V – ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL, HIGH SCHOOL
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Graduate required.
- Minimum one (1) year comparable clerical experience.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills along with attention to detail essential.
- Proficiency in AS400, Outlook, Word, Excel, Power School as required.
- Must have proven track recorded of positive customer service.
- Must have the ability to perform secretarial and administrative support functions requiring independent judgment, decision-making and problem solving.
- Must possess language skills including composition, punctuation, spelling and correct usage.
- Must have desire to learn new applications / software.
- Must have ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Must have filing and clerical skills.
- Must pass proficiency test in Microsoft Word, Excel & Power Point.
REPORTS TO: Building Administrator
SUPERVISES: Students on an as needed basis
JOB GOAL: To provide confidential assistance to the High School Principal and to assure the smooth and efficient operation of the building.
ASSIGNED RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Must work harmoniously with others to communicate effectively (both orally and in writing) with students, parents and staff members.
- Must communicate with others regarding building/district policies and procedures and refer requests to appropriate staff member.
- Prepares various reports, correspondence and other required materials.
- Maintains pupil accounting records for State Audit.
- Processes and maintains data and forms pertaining to schedules, grades, etc. and prepares related reports
- Maintains records and files, including confidential data.
- Prepares and distributes various passes, etc.
- Must have the ability to greet visitors, answer inquiries from students and parents, and refer visitors to appropriate staff members in a positive manner.
- Serves as the primary contact person between the principal and students, teachers, parents, vendors and general public.
- Assists in the coordination of Principal’s daily calendar including the appropriate scheduling of appointments.
- Assists in ordering, distributing and maintaining supplies, materials, etc.
- Performs related work as pertains to the position responsibilities.
- Other duties as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 44-46 Weeks
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually by the appropriate Building Administrator.
