  • DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Translates orally or in writing all documents presented by patients, staff and other individuals.

    • Provide interpreting / transliterating services for patients, employees and other individuals for meetings, interviews, telephone calls, etc. including one to one and group settings.

    • Prepare written translations of instructional and educational materials, correspondence, and forms from Arabic to English when appropriate for use bt eh patients, staff, and other individuals.

    • Check original texts or confer with authors to ensure that translations retain the content, meaning, and feeling of the original material.

    • Check translations of technical terms and terminology to ensure that they are accurate and remain consistent throughout translation revisions.

    • Compile terminology and information to be used in translations, including technical terms such as those for legal or medical material.

    • Proofread, edit, and revise translated materials.

    • Refer to reference materials such as dictionaries, lexicons, encyclopedias, and computerized terminology banks as needed to ensure translation accuracy.

    • Follow ethical codes that protect the confidentiality of information.

    • Identify and resolve conflicts related to the meanings of words, concepts, practices, or behaviors.

    • Answer inquiries from patients, community agencies, and individuals and interprets and explain words and phrases for meaning and appropriateness.

    • Handle appointment queries from the customer.

  • QUALIFICATION, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SPECIAL SKILLS

  • At least a high school graduate or its equivalent.

  • Speaks fluent English & Arabic.

  • Basic knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation both in English and Arabic.

  • Minimum 1-year experience as a translator in a patient focused environment.

  • Proficient technology application skills; Basic MS Office (Word, Excel, & Power point) MS Outlook & Internet explorer skills in English & Arabic.

  • Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective verbal and written communication in the English and Arabic Language.

  • Must have an exceptional interpersonal skills, maturity, good judgment and be capable of communicating in a professional manner with diverse range of individuals.

  • Patient focused; service oriented; patient & understanding.

  • Reliable, punctual, dependable, and responsive.
