We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Secretary/Paralegal to join our legal team. <Responsibilities>
- Provide comprehensive executive administrative support to attorneys, including calendar management, appointment scheduling, and correspondence handling.
- Conduct thorough legal research across various practice areas such as estate planning, environmental law, family law, securities law, and tribal regulations using LexisNexis, Westlaw, and other legal research tools.
- Draft, review, proofread, and edit legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, discovery requests, and correspondence with precision and clarity.
- Manage case files using document management systems like iManage and PCLaw; ensure all records are accurate, organized, and up-to-date.
- Assist with client interviews and intake processes; gather relevant information for case preparation while maintaining confidentiality.
- Support litigation activities by reviewing documents, managing case deadlines, and coordinating with external vendors or experts.
- Perform data entry tasks related to case management systems; ensure all information is accurately recorded and easily retrievable.
<Qualifications>
- Proven paralegal experience or equivalent legal administrative experience in a law office setting.
- Strong knowledge of legal areas including estate planning, environmental law, family law, securities law, UCC law (Uniform Commercial Code), workers' compensation law, personal injury law, patent law, landlord-tenant law, immigration law, tribal law & regulations.
- Familiarity with legal research platforms such as LexisNexis and Westlaw; ability to conduct detailed legal research efficiently.
- Experience with legal case management software like iManage or PCLaw; adept at document review and management systems.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional writing skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence; keen proofreading abilities.
- Strong interviewing skills to gather pertinent client information accurately.
- Proficiency in transcription and document review processes; attention to detail is essential.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high-quality work standards.
