Section Head - Cacl2 Operations (CPVC)

Job Purpose

Monitor, implement and control production activities so as to achieve targeted production of particular CACL2 Resin product in all shifts while meeting optimum levels of safety, quality and cost controls.

Job Context & Major Challenges

Chemicals Business of Aditya Birla Group produces Chlor-Alkali products among other Chemicals through Eighth units situated in different parts of the country. ABG is largest producer of Chlor Alkali in India with a market share of approx. 26%.

One of its state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities is based at Vilayat having the installed capacity upgraded to produce 1200 TPD of Caustic. The Unit also produces Chlorine derivate namely Chlorinated Paraffin’s (CP), Poly Aluminum Chloride (PAC Powder & Liquid), Stable Bleaching Powder (SBP), Phosphoric Acid (PA), Aluminum Chloride (ALCP), SCO, HSBP,CaCl2, MEE & Granulator and Chloromethane as the 1st organic product in its portfolio & ECH is also coming in next years.

The unit, located in the chemical hub of South Gujarat at Vilayat, is poised for an ambitious growth.

Job holder is responsible to plan, coordinate and monitor CACl2 plant operations to achieve targeted production within budgeted cost meeting product specifications with full compliance of SHE in the area of concern in Vilayat.

KRA1 6. Customer Service

Maintain system and procedures for customer delight

• Identify internal and external customer needs & take timely action on the same
• Initiate corrective actions, when needed
  
  

KRA2 5. System Management (Safety, Sustainability & WCM)

Adhere to safety & statutory environmental requirements

• Adhere to safety norms & safe operational procedures
• Adhere to OHSAS & SA 8000& WCM and sustainability norms
• Handle emergency situations like Liquid Chlorine leakages etc. under Disaster Management activities
  
  

KRA3 4. Operational efficiency & Continuous Improvement

Check process conditions to improve the operational efficiency

• Apply different problem solving tools to reduce the breakdowns
• Check process parameter deviations
• Debottleneck and follow SOPs to avoid any damages
• Manage the shift activities and prepare daily reports
• Timely make available all material, resources and infrastructure to the team for efficient operations
  
  

KRA4 3. Plant Performance

Implement plans to ensure optimum plant performance for achieving targets.

• Support in implementation of maintenance activities (in coordination with engineering) to ensure minimum losses.
• Follow Standard Operating Procedures for maximum efficiency and less damage.
• Check & inform breakdown failures, shutdown losses, etc. to maintenance department.
• Coordinate with maintenance department for availability of manpower and spare equipment when required.
  
  

KRA5 2. Product Quality

Implement process parameters for quality requirements as per customer needs

• Monitor & Maintain process quality parameters
• Control parameters to optimize consumption of chemicals
• Reduce losses like solid handling, packaging cost by process optimization
  
  

KRA6 1. Production/Operations

Co-ordinate and implement various activities to achieve production targets within time schedule & budget for CACl2 plant

• Implement production processes
• Check plant performance parameters on daily basis and report.
• Implement set operation parameters and consumption norms.
• Share management decisions/plans down the line for better execution.
• Timely arrange for consumables in the plant.
• Ensure proper and timely dispatches of goods in coordination with marketing.
