Position Overview
Panj Tantrader is seeking an experienced Securities Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting for securities, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and managing the day-to-day activities related to securities trading. Key Responsibilities

• Record, reconcile, and maintain all securities transactions, including equity, debt, and derivative instruments, ensuring proper accounting treatment.
• Prepare journal entries, ensuring accurate reporting of investment transactions, including purchases, sales, dividends, and interest accruals.
• Reconcile securities positions across various accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring proper presentation of securities and related transactions.
• Perform fair value and mark-to-market valuations for securities portfolios, and assist with reporting on unrealized gains and losses.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate and timely settlement of securities transactions.
• Provide detailed reports to senior management on securities positions, P&L, and risk exposure.
• Maintain accurate records of securities positions, related cash flows, and portfolio movements.
• Stay updated with regulatory changes and ensure compliance with international financial reporting standards (IFRS) and other relevant accounting guidelines.
• Support audits by providing necessary documentation and answering queries related to securities transactions and accounting practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in securities accounting, financial reporting, or a similar role.
• Solid understanding of securities markets, investment products, and accounting principles.
• Knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, or other applicable financial reporting standards.
• Proficiency in financial software and accounting systems (experience with ERP systems and Bloomberg/Reuters is a plus).
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, financial modeling, and data analysis.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to work accurately and efficiently under pressure.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with multiple stakeholders, including internal teams, auditors, and external partners.
• Fluency in English (Arabic proficiency is a plus).
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
