Security Dispatch Supervisor
Position Summary:
The Security Dispatch Supervisor is responsible for the oversight, coordination, and daily operational management of the OKCPS Security Dispatch Center (Safe Line / Operations Center). This role ensures that emergency communications, adio traffic, and district-wide security monitoring systems (cameras, access control, and alarms) are operated efficiently and in accordance with district policies.The core function of this role is to guarantee the efficient operation of emergency communications, radio traffic, and all district-wide security monitoring systems (including cameras, access control, and alarms), in full compliance with district policy.This position ensures 24/7 support for district-wide security operations, including coordination of armed security personnel, emergency response, alarm monitoring, and interagency communications.
The Supervisor maintains operational readiness, ensures dispatcher performance standards, supports crisis response, and serves as the communications bridge between schools, armed officers, district leadership, and external emergency agencies.
This position requires strong leadership, sound judgment under pressure, exceptional communication skills, and deep knowledge of K-12 safety operations.

Essential Duties:

Supervision & Leadership: Oversee the daily operations of the Security Command Center, providing guidance and direction to Dispatchers and security personnel.

Emergency Management: Lead the coordination of emergency responses, ensuring that notifications to district leadership and first responders are timely and accurate.

Operational Oversight: Ensure the continuous monitoring of district security cameras, fire/security alarms, and access control systems.

Quality Control: Review and audit incident reports and documentation within the records management and dispatch systems to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Training: Develop and implement training programs for staff on computer-aided dispatch (CAD) software, emergency protocols, and professional communication.

Agency Liaison: Serve as a primary point of contact for local Police/Fire Departments and other outside agencies during critical incidents.

Compliance: Ensure all staff adhere to local, state, and federal laws, as well as school board policies.

Personnel Management: Handle scheduling, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions as necessary for the dispatch team.

Professional Conduct: Model and enforce ethical behavior and professional standards in interactions with students, staff, and parents.
Minimum Qualifications:

Education: High School diploma or GED equivalent (Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice or related field preferred).

Experience: Previous supervisory experience in security, law enforcement, or emergency dispatching.

Licensing: Valid driver's license and ability to meet district insurance requirements.

Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in computer-aided dispatch software, surveillance systems, and records management systems.

Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to lead under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications:

Extensive experience in emergency management or a high-volume dispatch environment.

Advanced technical knowledge of access control and camera systems.

Experience with clerical and administrative tasks, including word processing and data entry.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

Must be able to remain calm and provide clear direction in high-stress, emergency situations.

Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and monitor multiple screens.

Physical agility to respond to incidents if necessary, including walking, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Ability to work varying shifts, including nights and weekends, as required for 24/7 security coverage.
