JOB SUMMARY

POSITION SUMMARY

The employee in this position is responsible for providing superior service to both internal and external guests. The Security Officer Level 1 is also responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for all patrons, employees and company assets. This position is classified as a Safety Sensitive position. It is a job or position where the team member holding this position has the responsibility for his/her own safety and/or the safety of others.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain a pleasant, friendly, and welcoming attitude toward all external and internal customers always.
  • Safety and security of all customers and employees and their assets
  • Safety and security of the parking grounds
  • General Escorts, Security Dispatch, and Security Podiums
  • Transporting money, chips, tokens and markers.
  • Controlling access to restricted areas including checking identifications.
  • Monitoring patron and employee passage in and out of the casino.
  • Responsible for checking for and reporting safety hazards.
  • Creating a clean, safe, friendly and fun atmosphere for all guests and employees.
  • Responsible for meeting departmental goals as set by the company or Security Manager.

WORKING CONDITIONS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Maintain strict confidentiality relative to financial information, operating systems, company policies, procedures, marketing plans, and team member information.
  • Completes all company-required training within designated time frames.
  • Ability to use all equipment associated with the position, including, but not limited to, two-way radio, computer, flashlight, telephone and ID Scanning systems.
  • Ability to read and write basic Incident Reports using a computer database.
  • Provides superior guest service, positively affects interactions with guests and employees, and has the resiliency to deal with difficult guests in all types of business conditions and the ability to work effectively and courteously with fellow employees.
  • Ability to maintain composure during difficult and/or stressful situations.
  • Have complete knowledge of all casino event and promotional activities
  • Ability to be at work on time as scheduled on a regular basis which may include night, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ensures the safety and security of all customers and team members.
  • Must have the ability to work in a casino environment exposed to smoke, bright lights and noise.
  • Must have the ability to perform assigned duties under frequent time pressure in an interruptive environment.
  • Must be able to work as a team with other departments.
  • Ability to be on feet for long periods of time up to 8 hours a day.
  • Ability to move effectively and efficiently throughout the casino, responding to assignments in a timely fashion.
  • Will require the following PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Standing 90% with 60% of that time being actively walking, sitting 10%.
  • Ability to pull/push large carts with assistance weighing up to 200-400 lbs.
  • Must be able to learn all essential job functions and computer systems within 90 days.
  • Act in ways that will surprise and delight our guests. Leave guests with positive feelings about our property and establish/maintain relationships with them. Approach each situation with a “yes we can” attitude, every guest every time.
  • Comply with our drug & alcohol-free workplace. Subject to post offer, for cause and post-accident drug tests.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
  • A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
  • Display a sound understanding of policies and procedures, and a demonstrated ability to conform to company standards within 90 days of hire date.
  • Ability to obtain and retain a valid level II license issued by Missouri Gaming.
  • Must possess average written and oral communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Prior experience in customer service preferred.
  • Must obtain CPR/AED certificate
