Security Officer

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Security Officer role based in Lahaina, HI. The Security Officer will monitor hotel premises, patrol interior and exterior areas, and ensure the safety and security of guests, associates, and property. Daily responsibilities include responding to emergencies and alarms, investigating incidents, documenting reports, and collaborating with local law enforcement or emergency services as needed. The role also involves monitoring access control systems and surveillance equipment, enforcing safety and security policies, and supporting loss-prevention initiatives. The Security Officer will provide professional, guest-focused assistance, including escorting guests or associates when needed and offering clear communication during routine and emergency situations.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience in security, law enforcement, military, or a related field, with a strong focus on safety and incident prevention.
  • Knowledge of access control, surveillance monitoring, and basic alarm or security systems.
  • Strong observation, situational awareness, and risk assessment skills in a hospitality or customer-facing environment.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including clear incident reporting and professional guest interaction.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure, follow emergency procedures, and make sound decisions in urgent situations.
  • Capacity to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods and respond quickly across hotel grounds, including in varying weather conditions.
  • Basic proficiency with computers and digital tools used for logs, reports, and security system interfaces.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in security, first aid, CPR, or life safety are preferred.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, in accordance with hotel operational needs.
  • Commitment to confidentiality, ethical conduct, and compliance with all applicable safety, security, and privacy regulations.
