Job Description

As a Security Officer Shipping Companyh in Detroit, MI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. Join Allied Universal at a busy logistics and distribution location, where you will help manage access control, monitor assigned areas, and conduct routine patrols while remaining visible to help deter security-related incidents. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver's license. You will also deliver outstanding customer service and communication, supporting daily operations with agility, reliability, teamwork, and integrity.

What You'll Do:

Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or drivers by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a busy logistics and distribution location.
Monitor access control points by verifying identification, credentials, and/or delivery documentation before allowing entry to authorized personnel, visitors, and vehicles.
Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and report unusual activity, policy violations, and/or access concerns to site leadership.
Maintain accurate visitor, contractor, and/or vehicle entry records, issue temporary badges or access credentials, and communicate post instructions with professionalism and courtesy.
Conduct regular and random patrols around entry areas, shipping and receiving zones, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and support site operations.

Minimum Requirements:

A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
Customer service experience is preferred.
Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
Loss prevention experience is preferred.
X-Ray screening experience is preferred.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
