Job Description

As a Security Officer Entry Control Specialist in Spring Valley, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. Join Allied Universal at a dynamic utilities location as an Access Control Officer, where you will help manage site entry, monitor activity, and support a professional, welcoming environment. This role combines security-related awareness with customer service and communication, while using technology to document and report concerns. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, contractors, and visitors by carrying out site-specific access control procedures and other security-related policies at a utilities location.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials, issue visitor access as directed, and document arrivals, departures, and deliveries in accordance with post instructions.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and unusual activity in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with site contacts and/or emergency responders when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around assigned buildings, control points, and perimeter areas to help identify unauthorized activity and/or conditions that may require attention.
• Prepare accurate reports on access activity, incidents, and policy-related concerns, and relay important updates during shift changes and/or to Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
