Selling HVAC Technician (Service + Sales Role)

About the Role

As a Selling HVAC Technician, you’ll run residential and light commercial service calls, diagnose system issues, and present repair, upgrade, or replacement options directly to the homeowner. This role is ideal for a technician who enjoys technical work and talking with customers, explaining solutions, and being rewarded for the value they bring.

You’re not a pushy salesperson—and we don’t want you to be. You’re a trusted advisor who educates customers and helps them make confident decisions.

What You’ll Be DoingTechnical Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair residential and light commercial HVAC systems
  • Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and full system evaluations
  • Clearly document findings, recommendations, and next steps
  • Follow best practices for safety, cleanliness, and workmanship
  • Take quality photos and notes to support transparency and planning

Sales & Customer Experience

  • Present repair, upgrade, and replacement options during the service visit
  • Build clear good / better / best options for customers
  • Explain pricing, scope, and value in a straightforward, honest way
  • Discuss financing, memberships, and long-term system value when appropriate
  • Close work you personally identify—including full system replacements

Compensation & Benefits

  • Hourly Pay: $25–$35 per hour (based on experience and skill level)
  • Commission: 5% on all sales, including repairs, upgrades, and full HVAC system replacements
  • No earning caps

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of residential HVAC service experience preferred
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
  • Comfortable presenting options and pricing to homeowners
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • EPA certification required
  • Sales experience is a plus—but coachability matters more
