Salary Statement
:
The salary for this position traditionally starts at $42,900.00 but may be commensurate with education or work experience.

A Day in the Life:
The essential functions of this role are as follows:
  • Operate varied types of equipment to provide delivery of goods or services.
  • Ensure all proof of delivery documents are signed for by receiving customer along with printed legible name and that documents are digitally captured and properly routed for processing.
  • Perform loading and unloading at warehouse and customer locations.
  • Perform pre-operation vehicle inspection.
  • Make minor mechanical and tire repairs.
  • Ensure daily vehicle log, time sheets and work reports are completed in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Perform audit of items shipped to bill of laden before transporting items.
  • Move products to customer specific locations and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Supervise offender work crew at correctional facilities and warehouse.
  • Workday attendance at assigned worksite(s) is an essential function of this position.

What You'll Need for Success:
Individuals in this role should minimally be able to articulate or demonstrate the following:
  • Must possess and hold a valid Class A commercial driver’s license (CDL) which regulates equipment of size and type required of the position.
  • Ability to complete IDOC/ICI industrial power truck certification.
  • Specialized knowledge of vehicle laws pertaining to trucks and transportation.
  • Specialized knowledge of highway safety policies for material transfers.
  • Knowledge of proper cargo loading and unloading techniques.
  • Ability to move 50 pounds.
  • Ability to maneuver tractor-trailer rigs successfully.
  • Must be able to work an adjustable schedule which may include long hours or varied hours depending on the assigned duty.
  • Ability to read maps and understand written directions.
  • High School Diploma or High School Equivalent (HSE).
A degree is not required. However, a High School Diploma or High School Equivalent (HSE) may be considered.

Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:
This role may be utilized in a supervisory capacity based on agency needs.
