Duties
- Diagnose and repair heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers using OEM specifications and schematics.
- Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, brake repairs, transmission servicing, suspension adjustments, and hydraulic system repairs.
- Fabricate custom parts or modifications using welding, soldering, and power tools to ensure equipment functions optimally.
- Conduct electrical diagnostics on complex systems involving HVAC units, electrical wiring, sensors, and control modules.
- Test drive repaired machinery to verify proper operation and safety standards are met; operate heavy equipment as needed for troubleshooting.
- Maintain detailed service records, logs, and reports for all repairs performed; follow safety protocols during all maintenance activities.
- Assist with tire service, alignment procedures, air brake systems, and heavy lifting tasks to support ongoing operations.
Skills
- Proven dealership or industrial equipment experience with strong mechanical knowledge of heavy machinery components.
- Expertise in diagnostics of automotive systems including transmissions, hydraulics, electrical wiring, and engine performance.
- Skilled in using schematics for troubleshooting complex mechanical and electrical issues; familiar with OEM parts and specifications.
- Proficient in fabricating parts or modifications using welding, soldering, hand tools, power tools, and assembly techniques.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while working on large equipment; experience operating heavy machinery is a plus.
- Knowledge of farm machinery, industrial equipment, HVAC systems on vehicles, tire service techniques and automotive repair fundamentals.
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients or team members regarding repairs or maintenance needs.
