We’re growing and looking for an SEM / SEO Specialist to join our team in our downtown Lexington, KY office to manage, optimize, and scale paid search and organic search strategies for our dealership partners.

Position Overview

The SEM / SEO Specialist is responsible for planning, executing, and optimizing paid search (Google Ads) and organic search (SEO) strategies. This role works closely with marketing planners, analysts, and account teams to ensure campaigns are data-driven, compliant, and aligned with dealership goals.

This position is ideal for someone who is analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple accounts in a fast-paced, collaborative office environment.

Key Responsibilities

SEM (Paid Search):

  • Build, manage, and optimize Google Ads campaigns (Search, Performance Max, Local)
  • Conduct keyword research, ad copy testing, and bid strategy optimization
  • Monitor budgets, pacing, and performance to hit client KPIs
  • Implement conversion tracking and assist with attribution setup
  • Analyze performance data and provide optimization recommendations

SEO (Organic Search):

  • Perform keyword research and on-page SEO optimization
  • Optimize website content, metadata, and site structure
  • Support local SEO efforts including Google Business Profiles
  • Monitor rankings, traffic, and technical SEO issues
  • Assist with SEO reporting and ongoing strategy improvements

Cross-Functional:

  • Collaborate with creative and content teams on ad copy and landing pages
  • Work with analysts to ensure accurate tracking and reporting
  • Maintain organized documentation and account notes
  • Stay current on Google Ads, SEO best practices, and algorithm updates

Qualifications

  • 1–3+ years of experience in SEM, SEO, or digital marketing
  • Hands-on experience managing Google Ads accounts
  • Working knowledge of SEO fundamentals and best practices
  • Experience with tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and keyword research platforms
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple accounts and deadlines simultaneously
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills

Bonus Points For

  • Automotive or dealership marketing experience
  • Experience with co-op advertising or OEM compliance
  • Google Ads certification(s)
  • Experience with GA4, Tag Manager, or conversion tracking
  • Familiarity with website platforms such as WordPress or dealer CMSs
