Senior Account Manager — Costco & Hawaii

Description Summary

Nutrex Hawaii is seeking a Senior Account Manager to own and grow one of our most important retail partnerships—Costco—along with a focused portfolio of long-standing accounts across the Hawaiian Islands.

This role carries full accountability for sales performance, forecasting, budgeting, and profitability across Costco.com, Costco Los Angeles warehouses, Costco Hawaii warehouses, and several key Hawaiian retail partners. You will serve as the primary relationship owner with Costco’s buying teams at both HQ and regional levels, while also maintaining strong on-the-ground relationships with warehouse teams to ensure optimal execution, product placement, and sell-through.

Success in this role requires deep sales experience, comfort navigating large retail organizations, and a strong appreciation for Hawaii’s culture and business environment. This is a highly visible role for someone who values ownership, disciplined execution, and thoughtful decision making.

This is a full-time, exempt position. Annual Salary: $100k-$120k D.O.E. Plus Bonus

Costco Account Ownership

Own Nutrex Hawaii’s Costco business across:
Costco.com

Costco Los Angeles warehouses

Costco Hawaii warehouses

Build and maintain trusted relationships with Costco buying teams at HQ and regional levels, including in-person visits as needed.

Plan, execute, and evaluate promotions, pallet placements, and marketing tests using a test and learn approach, ensuring results (or lack thereof) are identified quickly.

Conduct quarterly visits to all 7 Hawaii Costco warehouses and occasional visits to 10–30 LA-area warehouses to support execution, placement, and sell-through.

Hawaiian Islands Account Management

Own Nutrex Hawaii’s Hawaiian Islands territory outside of Costco, with a focus on several long-standing key accounts.

Build collaborative relationships with category managers, buyers, store managers, and in-store teams.

Drive growth through improved placement, coordinated demos (only where ROI is measurable), and strong in-store execution.

Visit Hawaiian accounts quarterly, aligning travel with Costco support.

Financial Ownership & Planning

Own budgeting, forecasting, and P&L responsibility for:
All Costco channels

Hawaiian Islands accounts

Partner closely with Supply Chain and Logistics to support accurate production planning aligned with promotional timing and forecasts.

Make disciplined, data-driven decisions to protect and improve profitability—even when those decisions are difficult.

Track performance versus budget and forecast, clearly explaining variances and corrective actions.

Cross Functional Leadership & Reporting

Collaborate closely with Marketing, Finance, Customer Service, Planning, Supply Chain, and Logistics to ensure alignment and smooth execution.

Present monthly updates to the management team during business reviews, covering:

Performance versus budget and forecast

Key drivers of success

Misses, root causes, and action plans

Own strategic planning for Costco and Hawaiian accounts, with oversight and high-level direction from the VP of Sales.

Support & Community Engagement

Partner with the Marketing team on select Hawaii-based community events, such as expos, trade shows, races, and local activations, providing sales input and customer context as needed. Level of involvement may vary based on location, timing, and business priorities.

Brand & Relationship Building

Represent Nutrex Hawaii with professionalism and cultural awareness in all customer interactions.

Occasionally host customers for farm tours in Hawaii, with support from internal team members, to deepen partnerships and strengthen brand connections.

Other Duties

Functions in full compliance with GMP and any other pertinent regulatory requirements.

Performs other duties that may be assigned.

Physical Demands

May be required to sit for extended periods of time at a computer or talking on the telephone. May need to lift up to 30 lbs. on occasion.

Will be required to travel as needed. May be required to work weekends and evenings.

Working Conditions

Work is performed primarily in an air-conditioned office environment. Travel to neighboring islands, meetings, events, and shows will be required.

Qualifications

Bachelors’ Degree, preferably in Marketing or Business Management. Equivalent years of experience in a relevant field may be substituted.

10+ years of sales experience in CPG. Experience in natural supplements, wellness, or health-focused products is a strong plus.

Proven experience working with large national retailers, ideally including Costco or similarly complex accounts.

Demonstrated success owning forecasts, budgets, and P&L responsibility.

Highly analytical with a bias toward action; comfortable testing, measuring, and adjusting quickly.

Strong relationship builder who can effectively engage buyers, warehouse teams, and internal partners.

Organized, disciplined, and comfortable operating independently in a remote environment.

Clear, confident communicator who can translate performance data into actionable insights for leadership.

Must have strong connection to Hawaii—through residence, prior work experience, or cultural familiarity—and an appreciation for the importance of local relationships and community. Based in Hawaii or the U.S. West Coast, with flexibility for regular travel preferred.

Proven consistent achievement of sales and profitability targets across Costco and Hawaiian accounts.

Improved sell-through driven by stronger execution, placement, and warehouse-level support.

Able to provide forecasts that Supply Chain and leadership can confidently rely on.

Able to conduct promotional tests that lead to clear decisions—scaling what works and stopping what doesn’t.

Able to develop and maintain trusted, long-term relationships with Costco buyers, warehouse teams, and Hawaiian retail partners.

Able to provide clear, thoughtful monthly reporting that supports strong decision-making across the business.

Proficiency in using PC-based applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point.

Proficiency in math and analytical aptitude.

Excellent verbal, written and telephone communication skills.

Excellent organizational and administrative skills, including time management, multi-tasking, attention to detail, and project management.

High level of personal integrity and professional ethics.
