Senior Accountant

A senior accountant manages complex accounting tasks, prepares detailed financial reports, ensures tax and accounting policy compliance, and supports internal and external audits. Key responsibilities include maintaining the general ledger, reconciling accounts, supervising junior staff, and analyzing financial data to provide recommendations for improvement. They require strong analytical skills, proficiency in accounting software and Excel, and a thorough understanding of GAAP principles. Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, reports, and budgets.
  • General Ledger Management: Oversee the general ledger, ensuring accurate recording, verification, and reconciliation of transactions and account balances.
  • Account Reconciliations: Conduct regular account reconciliations, including bank statements and subsidiary accounts, to ensure accuracy.
  • Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and addressing audit findings.
  • Tax Compliance: Support tax return preparation and ensure compliance with tax regulations and policies.
  • Process Improvement: Develop and recommend improvements to accounting systems and procedures to enhance efficiency and internal controls.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data, identifying discrepancies and providing insights to management on the company's financial status.
  • Supervision: Train, mentor, and supervise junior accounting staff and bookkeepers, assigning and reviewing their work.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Tally ERP) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong quantitative and analytical abilities to interpret complex financial data.
  • GAAP Knowledge: A thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to present findings to management and collaborate with teams.
  • Experience: Several years of experience in accounting, often with experience as an accounting supervisor or in a financial control role.
  • Certifications (Preferred): Professional certifications such as CPA, CMA, or ACCA may be preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED3,000.00 - AED4,000.00 per month
