Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant with a minimum of 4 years of proven experience within the UAE market. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing key accounting functions, ensuring compliance with UAE VAT regulations, and providing accurate financial reporting. This role requires a proactive individual with strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the full cycle of accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
• Ensure strict compliance with UAE VAT regulations—filing timely returns, maintaining accurate records, and handling all VAT-related queries.
• Perform month-end and year-end close processes efficiently and accurately.
• Prepare and review budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting packages for management.
• Coordinate with external auditors for the annual audit and provide all necessary documentation.
• Analyze financial data and create reports to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
• Oversee and mentor junior accounting staff, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
• Implement and maintain robust internal control procedures and financial policies.
• Liaise with banks and other financial institutions as required.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A professional certification (e.g., CPA, CA, ACCA) is a significant advantage.
• Minimum of 4 years of progressive accounting experience, specifically within the UAE.
• In-depth, hands-on knowledge of UAE VAT laws and proven experience with VAT return filing is mandatory.
• Strong proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Oracle, SAP, Tally) and advanced MS Excel skills.
• Thorough understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of management.
• Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
