Senior Accountant

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to manage and oversee the daily accounting operations, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and support financial decision-making with accurate reporting. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in supervising junior staff, preparing financial statements, and contributing to process improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions.
• Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, reports, and reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS/GAAP and local regulatory requirements.
• Monitor and manage cash flow, budgets, and forecasts.
• Review journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations prepared by junior accountants.
• Assist in external and internal audits by providing necessary documents and explanations.
• Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing.
• Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and controls.
• Oversee VAT/Tax returns and compliance filings.
• Coordinate with management to support business decisions with financial insights.
• Mentor and guide junior accountants and support staff.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field .
• Minimum 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior role in UAE.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, auditing practices, and taxation.
• Proficiency in accounting software including Zoho Books/Zoho Finance
• Advanced Excel and MS Office skills.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
