About the Role: The Senior Accountant will play a key role in leading day-to-day financial activities, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and supporting the finance leadership team in maintaining compliance with IFRS and UAE regulations. The role requires a hands-on individual with experience in a high-growth or FinTech environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and post journal entries for month-end and year-end closing.
- Maintain general ledger and ensure accurate and timely recording of all transactions.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with IFRS.
- Assist with consolidation of accounts across multiple entities.
Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Oversee vendor payments, reconciliations, and aging reports.
- Manage accounts receivable including reconciliation and follow-ups.
- Ensure all invoices, receipts, and supporting documents are maintained and compliant.
Compliance & Audit
- Ensure compliance with UAE VAT regulations, including filing and reconciliation.
- Support external and internal audits by preparing schedules and responding to auditor queries.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and relevant UAE regulations.
Financial Analysis & Controls
- Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Support process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Cross-Functional Support
- Liaise with other departments (operations, product, legal) to ensure financial alignment.
- Support the finance manager in strategic initiatives and special projects.
